An image capturing apparatus having a touch panel mounted on a display unit on the rear side of its housing is provided with a posture detection unit; a first gripping unit positioned on side of the housing when the posture is a normal position; a second gripping unit positioned on side of the housing when the posture is a vertical position; a first operating member operable by a finger of a hand that is gripping the first gripping unit; a second operating member operable by a finger of a hand that is gripping the second gripping unit; and a control unit that displays a first button for deactivating operations from the second operating member on the display screen, and receives input to the first button via the touch panel. The display position of the first button on the display unit is set based on a first virtual circle for which the center point has been set in the range of the first gripping unit or the second gripping unit, and the radius of the first virtual circle is a tangential line that reaches from the center point to the outer edge of the display unit, cutting across the display unit.

An imaging device detects a specific type object in a captured image, detects a position of a line-of-sight of a photographer, and controls so that: in case where the specific type object is not detected in the captured image, a main object to which a specific process should be applied is selected based on a predetermined condition within a first type zone including a detected line-of-sight input position, and in case where the specific type object is detected in the captured image, if the detected line-of-sight input position is included in a second type zone that is larger than the first type zone and includes the specific type object, the specific type object included in the second type zone corresponding to the line-of-sight input position is selected as the main object to which the specific process should be applied, regardless of the predetermined condition.

Imaging device

An image pickup device which ensures reliability of soldering without reinforcement using any additional special members or fixing with an adhesive agent or the like. The image pickup device outputs an image signal corresponding to an optical image. Signal terminals are placed on one surface of the image pick device and soldered to a mounting board on which the image pickup device is to be mounted. Reinforcing terminals provided on the one surface, on which the signal terminal is placed, reinforce the image pickup device. A holding fixing unit holds the image pickup device on the mounting board. When the image pickup device is mounted on the mounting board, the reinforcing terminals are located between the signal terminals and the holding fixing unit.

A print instruction apparatus includes a group information acquisition unit that acquires information identifying a feeder unit included in a group including two or more feeder units, from among a plurality of feeder units mounted on a printer to feed paper sheets, where if one feeder unit in the group runs out of paper sheets during printing, another feeder unit in the same group is configured to feed paper sheets, and a display that acquires information related to a remaining amount of paper sheets each of the feeder units in the group, and displays information related to a total remaining amount of paper sheets in the group.

An adapter, along with a method of fabricating the adapter, for a memory card connector to enable a miniature memory card to be inserted into a larger, standard memory card connector. A two-part housing is provided of a size and shape to simulate a standard memory card. The housing includes a base housing part defining a substantial portion of an inner cavity for receiving a miniature memory card. An inner housing part is separate from and independent of the base housing part. A plurality of terminals are mounted on the inner housing part to define a subassembly which is mounted on the base housing part. Each terminal includes a first contact portion at one end thereof for engaging an appropriate contact on the standard memory card connector. Each terminal includes a second contact portion at an opposite end thereof for engaging an appropriate contact of the miniature memory card.

A memory card connector includes a housing for receiving a memory card movable in an insertion direction to an inserted position. The housing mounts a plurality of terminals having contact portions for engaging contacts on at least one side of the memory card. A one-piece metal electrostatic discharge (ESD) terminal is mounted on the housing. The ESD terminal includes an ESD portion for engaging the memory card before the contacts on the card engage the contact portions of the terminals, along with a lock portion for engaging the memory card to maintain the card in its inserted position.
