A depilation method is disclosed, comprising coating a depilatory agent containing an aqueous solution or emulsion of a polymer compound having a film forming ability and a depilatory medicine, drying the resulting coating to form a film and peeling off the film. This method permits to remove hair without causing any pain and producing any unpleasant odor due to the decomposition of hair.

A method for coating a metal surface by forming a corrosion-protective layer on the metal surface or a defective area of a corrosion-protective layer formed on the metal surface, which comprises using a coating material selected from the group consisting of a tape-like, sheet-like and chip-like polymerizable coating material comprising a vinyl monomer and/or a vinyl group-containing oligomer and a liquid material comprising a vinyl monomer and/or a vinyl group-containing oligomer, wherein either the coating material or the liquid material contains a polymerization initiator and the material not containing the polymerization initiator contains a polymerization accelerator, and polymerizing the vinyl monomer and/or the vinyl monomer-containing oligomer in the state such that the metal surface or the defective area is covered with the coating material by interposing the liquid material therebetween, to form the corrosion-protective layer.

A pressure-sensitive adhesive composition containing as a polymer component an addition-polymerization polymer of an acryl-based polymer having sticking properties at room temperature and one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers capable of forming a homo- or co-polymer having a glass transition point of at least 273.degree. K.; the addition-polymerization polymer is prepared by polymerizing one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers in the presence of the acryl-based polymer; the present pressure-sensitive adhesive composition has high adhesive strength and cohesive strength.

Pressure-sensitive adhesive composition

A process for polymerizing acrylic monomers is disclosed. The process involves providing a reactor which is generally in the shape of a screw type reactor having temperature control means thereon. The reactor is continually charged with a supply of acrylic monomers having a viscosity of 10 poises or less at ordinary temperature. The acrylic monomers are continually moved through the reactor by turning of the screw within the reactor in order to cause the acrylic monomers to continually contact renewed surfaces within the reactor. The temperature in the reactor is controlled within two or more zones within the reactor in order to increase the viscosity of the acrylic monomers in the reactor by rapid polymerization within an initial area and then allow polymerization to proceed to one or more additional areas in the reactor to a prescribed rate of conversion. Polymerized product is continuously removed from the reactor.

Process for radical polymerizing acrylic monomers

An electrically conductive adhesive tape comprising a self-supporting electrically conductive tape support and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer provided on at least one surface of the tape support, wherein electrically conductive portions which extend through the adhesive layer and have a top end portion slightly covering the surface of the adhesive layer are provided on the side of the adhesive layer of the tape at desired intervals.
