In an electric vehicle including a motor shaft connected to a drive motor, a counter shaft coupled with the motor shaft, a drive shaft coupled with the counter shaft, a drive wheel coupled with the drive shaft, a plurality of bearings configured to support the counter shaft, and a plurality of gears configured to rotate integrally with the counter shaft, a torque sensor is disposed in a region in which a slope of a bending moment occurring on the counter shaft is minimum at a time that the drive motor is driven.

Electric vehicle

A motor unit includes a drive motor having an output shaft with a hollow portion, and a torque sensor arranged inside the hollow portion. The output shaft is formed by a magnetic body. A vehicle can include the motor unit. The drive motor can be a traction motor that generates traction drive force of the vehicle, for example.

Motor unit and vehicle

An electric vehicle includes a second rotating electric machine; a first transmission path configured to transmit force generated by the second rotating electric machine to a wheel; a first clutch that is arranged in the first transmission path and configured to switch between a connected state and a disconnected state between the second rotating electric machine and the wheel; and an ECU configured to control the second rotating electric machine and the first clutch. In the electric vehicle, a torque sensor is arranged between the first clutch and the wheel in the first transmission path.

A sensor unit includes a shaft having a hollow portion and a torque sensor that is arranged inside the hollow portion and detects torsional torque acting on the shaft from inside the shaft. A motor unit can include the sensor unit and a drive motor. A vehicle can include the motor unit. A drive motor can be a traction motor that generates a traction drive force for the vehicle, for example.

Sensor unit, motor unit, and vehicle

A drive motor includes a torque sensor on an outer circumference of a shaft. The drive motor includes a rotor, a rotor shaft arranged inside the rotor, and an output shaft that is joined to the rotor shaft by a joint having a loose element. In the drive motor, the output shaft outputs rotational force of the rotor shaft to the output side. The torque sensor is arranged on an upstream side of the joint in a range not overlapping with the joint.

Vehicular drive system

A vehicle is equipped with a torque sensor configured to detect a torque, and which is disposed on a second transmission path connecting a first rotary electric machine and a first branch point on a first transmission path. When a first switching device is placed in a connected state and a vehicle wheel is driven by an internal combustion engine, a control device causes an inverted phase torque, which is opposite in phase to a detected torque detected by the torque sensor, to be generated in the first rotary electric machine.

A motor unit including a drive motor that includes an output shaft having a hollow portion; a torque sensor arranged within the hollow portion; and a cooling mechanism. The cooling mechanism has one end of a coolant path arranged inside the hollow portion and cools the drive motor and the torque sensor. A vehicle can include the motor unit. A vehicle is equipped with a torque sensor configured to detect a torque, and which is disposed between an internal combustion engine and a first switching device on a first transmission path. When the first switching device is switched from a disconnected state to a connected state, a control device calculates a torque difference between a target torque of the internal combustion engine corresponding to a specified point on the first transmission path, and a detected torque or the like detected by the torque sensor. Further, the control device generates in a first rotary electric machine or a second rotary electric machine a compensation torque that compensates for the torque difference.

A drive motor in which a torque sensor is arranged on an outer circumference of a shaft, includes a rotor, a rotor shaft arranged inside the rotor, and an output shaft that is joined to the rotor shaft by a spline joint and outputs rotational force of the rotor shaft to the output side. The torque sensor is arranged on an output side of the spline joint in a range not overlapping with the spline joint.

A magnetostrictive torque sensor is provided that is capable of maintaining high detection accuracy, even when an excessive torque acts on a rotary shaft. The magnetostrictive torque sensor includes a magnetostrictive filmthat is arranged on a second steering shaft, or a rotary shaft, having a substantially columnar shape so as to surround the second steering shaftaround its axis, and detects a rotational torque about the axis acting on the second steering shaftbased on a change in a magnetic property of the magnetostrictive film. Magnetostrictive torque sensor and method of manufacturing same

A power steering apparatus for a vehicle includes a column shaft, a column pipe rotatably supporting the column shaft through a plurality of bearings, and a torque sensor for detecting torque generated on the column shaft by using magnetism. The column pipe is composed of a steel pipe. The torque sensor includes a magnetically variable portion and a magnetic change detector. The magnetically variable portion is disposed on the column shaft and has a magnetic permeability that varies with the torque generated on the column shaft. The magnetic change detector is configured to detect a change in the magnetism of the magnetically variable portion. The magnetic change detector is attached to the column pipe by being inserted in an axial direction through an opening at an axial end of the column pipe.

Power steering apparatus for vehicle and method of producing the same

A magnetostrictive torque sensor includes a magnetostrictive portion formed on a rotational shaft, a bobbin surrounding an outer circumference of the magnetostrictive portion, and a coil wound on the bobbin for detecting a change in magnetic property of the magnetostrictive portion. The bobbin fits over the magnetostrictive portion in contact with the magnetostrictive portion in such a manner as to allow rotation of the magnetostrictive portion relative to the bobbin. The magnetostrictive torque sensor is carried on an electrically assisted bicycle or an electric power steering apparatus of a vehicle.

Disclosed are a magnetostrictive torque sensor and an electrical power steering device, wherein a first torque sensor has: one magnetostrictive film provided on a steering shaft; a first coil and a second coil that detect changes in the magnetic characteristics of the magnetostrictive film; and a first housing that contains, at least, the steering shaft, the magnetostrictive film, the first coil, and the second coil. The first housing has a resin part, a cylindrical part made of a metal that is soft magnetic, and a flange part made of a metal that is soft magnetic. The resin part, the cylindrical part, and the flange part are formed as a unit.

Magnetostrictive torque sensor and electrical power steering device

A magnetostrictive torque sensor includes a rotation shaft, a magnetostrictive member, and a plurality of detectors. The rotation shaft is rotationally supported. The magnetostrictive member is disposed on a surface of the rotation shaft and being deformable in accordance with a magnitude of rotation torque applied to the rotation shaft to change magnetic permeability. The plurality of detectors are disposed on a periphery of the rotation shaft. Each of the detectors is configured to detect a change in magnetic permeability of the magnetostrictive member in a form of an electrical change. The detectors are configured to detect different amounts of electrical change from one another if amounts of change in deformation are same throughout the magnetostrictive member.

Magnetostrictive torque sensor and electrically-assisted power steering apparatus

A magnetostrictive torque sensor device which detects a torque applied to a rotary shaft is provided. The magnetostrictive torque sensor device includes a magnetostrictive portion provided on a surface of the rotary shaft, a coil and a cylindrical back-yoke disposed in outer periphery of the coil. The coil includes a bobbin arranged in outer periphery of the magnetostrictive portion, and a wire wound around the bobbin. A slit is provided on the back-yoke.
