Provided is a compound and composition capable of increasing a sugar content in a fruit by a simple method, without being restricted by a cultivation area of a plant or a climatic environment. The agent for increasing a sugar content in a fruit of a plant comprises a compound represented by the formula MX as an active ingredient, wherein M represents alkali metal ion or alkaline earth metal ion, and X represents carbonate ion, hydrogen carbonate ion, acetate ion, citrate ion, succinate ion, phosphate ion, hydrogen phosphate ion, or pyrophosphate ion.

The present invention relates to a copper-containing formulation for plant disease-control which comprises divalent copper and polyphosphate residues, wherein the amount of the polyphosphate residues per one chemical equivalent of the divalent copper is higher than one chemical equivalent. Agricultural chemical preparations and method for preparing same

A coated agricultural chemical comprises a powdery effective component of an agricultural chemical coated with at least one member selected from the group consisting of esters of aliphatic acids and aliphatic polyols and phospholipids in an amount of 0.1 to 3 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the effective component. The agricultural chemicals exhibit high efficiency even at a concentration lower than that conventionally used and low phytotoxicity to plants.

It was found that sodium bicarbonate has a fungicidal activity and at the same time that the compound has a defect as a fungicide in that it is inferior in adhesiveness and spreadability and for this reason cannot be used alone as a fungicide. It is further found that an agricultural and horticultural fungicide having lasting fungicidal activity against plant diseases in a control value of over 90% can be obtained by using sodium bicarbonate in combination with a surfactant, particularly a food emulsifier, and further that the combination shows extensive effect in preventing fruit storage diseases. As all components of the combination are substances approved as food additives throughout the world, the fungicide does not cause pollution or present any hazard to human health.
