An airbag device that is mounted on a vehicle and provided with an airbag that deploys around a rider includes: a separation unit that separates the airbag from the vehicle; a detection unit that detects an elapsed time since deployment of the airbag; and a separation control unit that causes the separation unit to separate the airbag in a case where a predetermined condition including a first condition that the elapsed time detected by the detection unit exceeds a time threshold is satisfied.

Airbag device

An airbag device for a saddle-type vehicle which can restrict an airbag from being separated until the airbag is deployed so that the airbag can be separated in a deployed state. The airbag device includes an inflator and an airbag, and has a first restriction portion that restricts separation between the inflator and the airbag. The first restriction portion has an elastic member positioned inside the inflator. When the inflator releases a gas having a first gas release pressure, the elastic member is increased in diameter due to the gas pressure, and the inflator and the elastic member enter a locked state and restrict separation of the airbag. When the inflator releases a gas having a second gas release pressure, the elastic member diameter is decreased to be smaller than the diameter in the locked state, the locked state is canceled, and separation of the airbag is unrestricted.

Airbag device for saddle-type vehicle

In a saddled vehicle, a vehicle, and a rider protector, an airbag is made compact, and the airbag is prevented from being obstructed by arms of a rider, so that the airbag properly protects the rider. A saddled vehicle includes a seat for a rider and an airbag provided in front of the seat. The airbag includes a first deploying portion that is deployed upward when deployed, a second deploying portion that branches and extends from the first deploying portion when deployed; and the second deploying portion extends outward in a vehicle width direction from the first deploying portion.

In a saddled vehicle and rider protection equipment, an airbag is enabled to protect a rider from the front and the rear with a simple structure. A saddled vehicle includes a seat for an occupant and an airbag provided in front of the seat; and the airbag includes an upwardly deploying portion that is deployed upward when deployed, a first deploying portion that extends rearward and outward with respect to the upwardly deploying portion, from an upper part of the upwardly deploying portion when deployed, and a downwardly deploying portion that bends and extends downward from the first deploying portion when deployed.

A saddle-ride type vehicle includes a retainer that is provided behind a head pipe; an inflator; and an airbag that is housed in the retainer, inflates by gas discharged by the inflator, and is deployed in front of an occupant. The retainer is disposed below a handlebar. The airbag is formed in a bag shape by a joining structure of a front surface and a rear surface, and a panel that forms a circumferential length difference between the front surface and the rear surface in a side view is provided at a coupling portion between the front surface and the rear surface.

Saddle-ride type vehicle

An airbag device for saddle-type vehicles including: an inflator; an airbag adapted to be expanded by gas discharged from the inflator; and a retainer accommodating the airbag, in which the inflator and the retainer are disposed as separate members. The retainer is provided on a turning axis of a handle stem in a side view of a vehicle, the inflatorprovided around a head pipe in a top view of the vehicle, and the retainer and the inflator are coupled to each other with a connection tube.

Airbag device for saddled vehicle

A saddle riding-type vehicle includes a retainer that is provided behind a head pipe; an inflator; and an airbag that is housed in the retainer, inflates by gas discharged by the inflator, and is deployed in front of an occupant. The airbag includes a proximal end portion that is positioned in the retainer when the airbag is deployed and an outward deployment portion that extends from the proximal end portion and is deployed to the outside of the retainer when the airbag is deployed. A tab is provided on the proximal end portion, and the tab is fixed to the retainer.

Saddle riding-type vehicle

In an airbag device of a saddle-type vehicle, the number of component parts to be separated together with an airbag from the saddle-type vehicle can be reduced. In the airbag device for the saddle-type vehicle including an inflator and an airbag to be inflated by gas released by the inflator, after the airbag is inflated and deployed, the airbag is separated from the inflator.

In a straddle-type vehicle including an airbag device in a seat for an occupant, the airbag can be efficiently disposed in the seat, and an occupant on a front side of the airbag device can be protected by the airbag device. In the straddle-type vehicle including an airbag device in a seat for an occupant, the seat includes a front seat and a rear seat disposed on a rear side and an upper side of the front seat, a step portion is formed between the front seat and the rear seat, the airbag device is disposed on a rear side of the step portion in the seat, and an airbag of the airbag device is to be deployed forward of the vehicle.

Straddle-type vehicle

A saddle-ride type vehicle includes a retainer that is disposed behind a head pipe; an inflator; and an airbag that is housed in the retainer, inflates by gas discharged by the inflator, and is deployed in front of an occupant. The airbag is housed in the retainer and includes a proximal end-side folded portion folded in a roll shape or a bellows shape, an intermediate-side folded portion extending from the proximal end-side folded portion and folded above the proximal end-side folded portion, and a distal end-side folded portion extending from the intermediate-side folded portion and folded in a roll or bellows shape in a cross section in a vehicle side view. The intermediate-side folded portion has a plurality of folding-back points at which folding is made along the distal end-side folded portion in a front-rear direction of the distal end-side folded.

A saddle-ride type vehicle includes a retainer that is provided behind a head pipe; an inflator; and an airbag that is housed in the retainer, inflates by gas discharged by the inflator, and is deployed in front of an occupant. The airbag is housed in the retainer in a state of being folded bilaterally asymmetrically with respect to a horizontally central portion of the airbag in a cross section in a vehicle top view.

To realize disposition of a retainer that can improve an occupant comfort of a passenger of a saddled vehicle. In a saddled vehicle including: a vehicle body including a head pipe that supports a steering system and a down frame that extends downward from the head pipe; a retainer provided behind the head pipe; an inflator; and an airbag accommodated in the retainer, the airbag being configured to be expanded by gas released by the inflator and deployed in front of the passenger, the retainer is provided with a fastening portion that fastens the retainer to the vehicle body, and the fastening portion includes a plurality of fastening members.

A saddle riding vehicle airbag device can be disposed compactly and the airbag can be deployed vertically upward. In the saddle riding vehicle airbag device provided with a retainer that is provided in front of a seat for a rider, an inflator and an airbag that is housed in the retainer, is inflated by means of a gas discharged from the inflator and is deployed in front of the rider, in which the retainer is provided with an L-shaped airbag passage that causes the airbag to deploy upward in a left-right direction, and, in a deployed state, the airbag is formed bilaterally asymmetrical with respect to a left-right center line of the airbag.
