There is disclosed a cellular phone in which communication of information for a call including a voice is carried out in a communication section for the call, and communication of information which is different from the call information and which includes an image to be displayed is carried out in a communication section for information. A first display section in which the information for the call is displayed, and a second display section in which details of the information including the image to be displayed are enlarged and displayed are disposed in a cellular phone main body. An attachable/detachable operation key for inputting characters or instruction information is disposed so that the key can be attached/detached with respect to the cellular phone main body. The information is transmitted/received between the attachable/detachable operation key and the cellular phone main body by cable or by radio.

A printer incorporated type electronic camera composed of an imaging unit including an imaging lens and a CCD, a printer unit, a cassette information detecting/recording unit, a tape cassette in which a recording tape having an adhesive agent applied to the back surface thereof is wound and accommodated and which can be detachably loaded and a controller for controlling respective elements. A subject image captured by the imaging unit is printed on recording tape in the tape cassette by the printer unit. Processing for fitting an image captured from an external source to the print image, and the like can be carried out. The tape cassette for print can be easily loaded to the printer incorporated type electronic camera and further the camera is less expensive. Since the radius of curvature of the recording tape when it is fed out is smaller that when it is accommodated, the recording tape can be easily exfoliated.

A barcode symbol inclination detection unit detects the inclination angle of a barcode symbol on the basis of image information fetched by an image data fetching unit using, e.g., a linear sensor. A memory read/write control unit directly stores the image information fetched by the image data fetching unit in a memory unit, obliquely reads out the stored information along the detected inclination angle, and supplies readout data to a decoder unit. A recording and reproducing apparatus of an optical recording medium has a plurality of light sources. A plurality of light beams are radiated by a laser diode array to a track of the optical recording medium, and each of the plurality of light beams reflected by the track is detected by a photodiode and converted into an electrical signal. The laser diode array is arranged such that the beam spots of adjacent ones of the plurality of light beams cross a track direction of the optical recording medium and a track width direction perpendicular to the track direction. The signal detected by the photodiode is converted into an electrical signal and recorded in a frame memory as data corresponding to the signal. The digital data stored in the frame memory is read out by a two-dimensional decoder.

The intensity of light reflected from a bar code constructed by bars and spaces is time-sequentially detected by use of a line sensor, sample-and-hold circuit and binary-coding circuit. Data representing the time-series of bars and spaces is counted by a white/black variation point detector and bar/space width counter and converted into width information. In this case, the bar/space width counter starts the counting operation in response to a count enable signal output after a skip-reading counter has counted a count amount previously set by a skip-reading amount setting section. Thus, when width information is stored into a memory, data obtained after data of the preset width among the width information is stored into the memory.

The image of a bar code on a bar code label is picked up by a linear sensor while scanning in the X and Y directions is performed by a stage. An analog video signal from this linear sensor is converted into digital data by an analog processor. The resulting digital video data is supplied to a counter unit, and the counter unit counts the lengths of bars and spaces constituting the bar code. These counted lengths of the bars and the spaces are stored in a memory. The content of the memory is decoded by a data processor constituted by a CPU or the like. The decoded result is supplied to, e.g., a host computer, thereby presenting the content of the information written on the bar code to an operator.

A stop sensing section senses movements by comparing data on two lines separated by a time interval in the same place (line) of the digital image information on the bar codes from a signal processing section and, when there is no movement, outputs a decode start trigger signal to a decoder section. A CPU in the decoder section, receiving the decode start trigger signal, judges that the bar codes have stopped in the proper position, and reads the bar code image information stored in a frame memory at that time for decoding.
