An intake system of an engine is provided, which includes a first passage provided to an engine bay, for leading fresh air to the engine, a second passage branched from the first passage and extending toward a cabin, and an intake noise increasing device provided to the second passage. The intake noise increasing device has a cylindrical bellows part, a vibrating membrane formed integrally with the bellows part to close a first opening of the bellows part, and an outer circumferential case provided to cover an outer circumference of the bellows part and configured to allow the expansion and contraction of the bellows part therein. The second passage has a deriving passage section connected to a part of the outer circumferential case on a first opening side and extending toward the cabin. The deriving passage section is disposed to be lowered while separating from the intake noise increasing device.

Engine intake system

An intake system of an engine is provided, including a first passage provided to an engine bay, for leading fresh air to the engine, a second passage branched from a branching part at an intermediate location of the first passage, and extending toward a cabin, and an intake noise increasing device provided to the second passage, and configured to increase intake pressure in response to an intake air pressure wave. The intake noise increasing device has a cylindrical bellows part configured to expand and contract in a cylindrical axis direction, and a vibrating membrane formed integrally with the bellows part to close a first opening of the bellows part. The second passage has an introducing passage section connected to a second opening of the bellows part, and extending toward the branching part, and the introducing passage section is disposed so as to be lowered while separating from the bellows part.

An engine cover covers an engine; and an intake pipe through which the air is introduced into the engine. An intake silencer is provided adjacent to the intake pipe and suppresses air pressure fluctuations of air in the intake pipe to reduce intake sound. A portion of the intake silencer is covered with the engine cover, and a remaining portion is exposed with respect to the engine cover. An advantage is that secondary noise generated by the intake silencer and a temperature increase of air suctioned into the engine are simultaneously suppressed.

In an engine compartment, a separation wall is provided between an intake pipe, which runs around to a rear side of the engine from a lateral side of the engine, and the engine. On an outer side of this separation wall, a travel wind guide having a vertical wall portion that opposes the separation wall with the intake pipe being therebetween is provided. The travel wind guide guides vehicle travel wind that is introduced into the engine compartment in a manner to cause the vehicle travel wind to flow along the intake pipe on the outer side of the separation wall.

An intake device of an engine includes an air cleaner and an air flow sensor. The air cleaner includes an air filter, a cleaner case which forms a primary side space above the air filter and a secondary side space below the air filter, an inlet duct, and an outlet duct. The air flow sensor is fixed to the outlet duct. The cleaner case has a first side wall on which the inlet duct is mounted, and a second side wall which opposedly faces the first side wall. The air filter has a folded shape like bellows, and is held in the cleaner case. The second side wall has a deflecting portion which deflects air introduced from the inlet duct into a flow directed in an obliquely upward direction.
