An insertion device includes a bending portion provided in an insertion portion having a longitudinal axis; an operation lever provided in an operation portion and configured to cause the bending portion to bend, where the operation portion is provided on a proximal end side of the insertion portion; and an elastic member connected to the operation portion, and provided with rigidity that resists tilting when the operation lever is tilted, where first rigidity in a first tilting direction is lower than second rigidity in a second tilting direction, wherein of the elastic member, a cross-section orthogonal to an axial direction of the operation lever is formed into a rectangular shape, and any of corners of the rectangular shape of the cross-section is placed in the first tilting direction.

An endoscope includes an insertion portion including a bending portion, an operation portion including an operation lever, a grasping portion including an actuator, and a tube body, in a continuous manner. When the operation lever is tilted, the actuator pulls a wire, whereby the bending portion is bent in a vertical direction and a lateral direction. The actuator is arranged such that a center of gravity of a portion including the insertion portion, the operation portion, the grasping portion, and the tube body is within a range in which at least one of the fourth finger or the fifth finger of the hand grasping the grasping portion is positioned, in a longitudinal direction of the grasping portion.

Endoscope

A bending operation mechanism of the endoscope is an operating section to operate a bending section, and a boot section to cover the main body of the operating section in a watertight manner by causing a tiltable operating lever provided at the frame section to pass through the boot section, includes a watertight fixing portion on its periphery. The endoscope includes a first fixing member engaged with the locking section of the frame section and locked unrotatably in the watertight fixing portion of the boot section to press the watertight fixing portion from an outer periphery side such that the watertight fixing portion is made watertight, and a second fixing member screwed with the frame section to fix the first fixing member on the frame section.

An endoscope includes: operation wires insertedly arranged inside an insertion portion and an operation portion, the operation wires causing a bending portion to bend by being pulled/slackened; an operation member provided on the operation portion, the operation member performing a bending operation of the bending portion; a rotation member provided in the operation portion, the rotation member pulling/slackening the operation wires by rotating in conjunction with an operation of the operation member; and an amount-of-operation-force reducing portion giving rotation torque in a direction in which the rotation member inclines to reduce an amount of operation force of the operation member, in response to inclination of the operation member, wherein the rotation torque of the amount-of-operation-force reducing portion changes in conjunction with displacement of the operation member operated, and the amount-of-operation-force reducing portion offsets and reduces the amount of operation force required for the operation member.

An endoscope includes: an insertion portion; an operation portion; a bending wire that causes a bending portion to bend by pulling; a bending operation member that gives pulling force to the bending wire by swinging; an operation force reduction portion including a spring that can press the bending operation member; and a semi-fixation mechanism switch operation member that makes a switch to a pressing state, in which the spring presses the bending operation member, and to a non-pressing state.
