A robot includes a base; a first arm rotatably connected to the base around a first rotation axis; and a second arm rotatably connected to the first arm around a second rotation axis parallel to the first rotation axis, wherein the second arm includes an arm base and a cover configured to attach to and detach from the arm base, the cover includes a cover main body that covers an upper portion of the arm base and a covering section that protrudes downward from the cover main body and that covers a portion of a side surface of the arm base, and when an outer surface of the covering section is defined as a first surface and a side surface not covered by the covering section among side surfaces of the arm base is defined as a second surface, at least one of wavelength of reflection light on the first surface and wavelength of reflection light on the second surface are different, or intensity of reflection light on the first surface and intensity of reflection light on the second surface are different.

A driving mechanism according to an aspect includes a first pulley configured to rotate around a first axis, a motor configured to rotate the first pulley around the first axis, a second pulley disposed to be separated from the first pulley and configured to rotate around a second axis parallel to the first axis, a first belt laid around the first and second pulleys and configured to transmit power of the motor from the first pulley to the second pully, a third pulley disposed side by side with the second pulley in a direction along the second axis and configured to rotate around the second axis integrally with the second pulley, a fourth pulley disposed to be separated from the third pulley and configured to rotate around a third axis parallel to the second axis, a second belt laid around the third and fourth pulleys and configured to transmit the power of the motor from the third pulley to the fourth pulley, and a first bearing located between the second and third pulleys and configured to support the second and third pulleys.

Driving mechanism and robot

A robot includes a power source and a power transmission mechanism configured to transmit an output of the power source. The power transmission mechanism includes a fixed member, a first pulley configured to rotate around a first axis with respect to the fixed member, a second pulley disposed to be separated from the first pulley and configured to rotate, with respect to the fixed member, around a second axis parallel to the first axis, a belt wound around the first pulley and the second pulley and configured to transmit the rotation of one of the first pulley and the second pulley to another, a restricting member including a restricting section disposed to be opposed to the belt with a gap in a portion where the first pulley and the belt mesh with each other, and a screw having a center axis along the first axis and configured to fix the restricting member to the fixed member. The restricting member rotates around the center axis to thereby change a separation distance between the restricting section and the belt in a plan view from a direction extending along the first axis.

Robot and adjusting method

A robot includes a first member having a first mounting surface facing upward and a second member having an opening at an upside of the first member and facing the first member and a second mounting surface at the upside, and a joint actuator coupling the first and second members. The joint actuator has a flange fixed to the second mounting surface, a motor placed at the upside with respect to the flange, and a reducer placed at a downside with respect to the flange, projecting downward from the opening, and fixed to the first mounting surface. The joint actuator is mounted on the second mounting surface from the upside and the reducer is projected downward from the opening, and the flange is fastened to the second member from the upside using first screws and the reducer is fastened to the first member from the downside using second screws.

A printer which transports a sheet of paper from a paper tray inserted in the printer to perform printing includes: an insertion/removal sensing unit configured to sense insertion and removal of the paper tray; a transport failure sensing unit configured to sense a transport failure of the sheet of paper; and a print control unit configured to, if, when a transport failure is sensed by the transport failure sensing unit, the print control unit determines that transport of the sheet of paper is transport performed directly after the insertion/removal sensing unit sensed insertion of the paper tray, issue a notification for prompting a user to perform an operation relating to the paper tray.

A media processing device executes a retard preparation operation that moves a separation roller and a paper return lever at a desired time even when the moving mechanism that moves a separation roller and a paper return lever together, and the conveyance mechanism that conveys the medium, share a common drive source. A printer has a moving mechanism that executes a retard preparation operation that moves the paper return lever and separation roller in conjunction with each other. Drive power from the conveyance motor is transferred to the moving mechanism. The printer also has a trigger lever that can move between an interference position physically interfering with the moving mechanism and preventing the retard preparation operation from starting, and an actuator that moves the trigger lever from the interference position to a non-interference position.
