The controller moves a movable body along a moving direction. A recording head and a detector are mounted on the movable body. The detector detects a detection target fixed to an ink receiving unit. The ink receiving unit receives an ink jetted from the recording head at a time of a flushing. The controller obtains, based on a signal from an encoder, a position of the movable body in a case that the detection target is detected by the detector during movement of the movable body. The controller determines a start timing of the flushing based on the obtained position of the movable body.

Image forming apparatus

There is provided a pulse generator generating a timing pulse based on a detection signal obtained from a detection signal outputting part configured to output the detection signal every time a motor rotates by a predetermined amount which has been previously set. The pulse generator includes: a time information calculating part, and a timing determining part. A time difference between a first calculating timing at which first time information is calculated and a second calculating timing at which second time information is calculated is longer than a time required for the motor to rotate by not less than an angle corresponding to a cogging distance.

An electronic device includes a motor, a moving body on which a processing part is mounted, a rotary encoder, a memory; and a controller. The controller is configured to execute a detection process of detecting a position of the moving body based on an encoder signal, a control process including a first control of controlling movement of the moving body by controlling the motor and a second control of controlling a processing operation by the processing part in a constant speed movement section of the moving body, a determination process of determining a detection error of the position of the moving body generated in an acceleration section of the moving body based on information stored in the memory, and a correction process of correcting at least one of the first control and the second control.

An image recording apparatus includes: a housing formed with a first conveying path through which a sheet is conveyed; a head positioned above the first conveying path; a platen positioned below the first conveying path to face the head and which is moved between a first position and a second position farther from the head than the first position; an interference member positioned below the platen; and a discharge tray. The discharge tray is movable between a third position at which the discharge tray is installed in the housing and a fourth position at which the discharge tray is drawn from the housing. The interference member is movable between a fifth position at which the interference member contacts the platen being moved from the first position to the second position and a sixth position at which the interference member does not contact the platen positioned in the second position.

A pulse generator includes: a position calculating part configured to calculate a position of a driving object, based on a detection signal of a detection signal outputting part; an adjusting amount calculating part configured to calculate at least one adjusting amount previously set so that a value of the at least one adjusting amount is periodically changed with respect to the position of the driving object; and a timing adjusting part configured to determine an output timing, at which the timing pulse is to be output, based on the at least one adjusting amount.

An image recording apparatus is provided, including a casing; a tray which is to be installed to the casing by being inserted in a first orientation and which is to be withdrawn from the casing in a second orientation that is opposite to the first orientation; a sheet conveying passage; a platen; a recording part; and an interlock which moves the platen while being interlocked with movement of the tray in the first orientation or movement in the second orientation. The platen is movable to a printing position and a release position. The interlock moves the platen from the printing position to the release position while being interlocked with the withdrawal of the tray from the casing or the insertion of the tray into the casing.

A liquid-printing apparatus, having a conveyer, a printing head, a liquid storage, a carriage, a scanning assembly, a remaining amount detector, and a controller, is provided. The printing head prints an image in a printing area ranging from a print-start position to a print-finish position along a scanning direction. The scanning assembly performs pass actions to move the carriage from a scan-start position to a scan-terminal position along the scanning direction. The remaining amount detector detects an amount of the liquid in the liquid storage. The controller controls the scanning assembly to perform a first pass action in a setting such that the scan-terminal position for the first pass action is separated farther in the scanning direction, in proportion to largeness of the amount of the liquid in the liquid storage, from one of the printing area for the first pass action and the printing area for a second pass action.

Liquid-printing apparatus

An image recording apparatus includes: a carriage movable in a first direction; a head mounted on the carriage; a holder movable in the first direction; a cap unit mounted on the holder; and first and second guide portions. The cap unit is movable relative to the holder in the first direction and is also movable toward and away from the head in a second direction crossing the first direction. The head is configured to abut on a second abutment portion of the cap unit in accordance with movement of the carriage in the first direction toward a first abutment portion of the holder. The first guide portion is configured to guide the holder in the first direction. The second guide portion is configured to guide the holder in the second direction to move the cap unit toward the head in accordance with movement of the holder in the first direction.

An image recording apparatus, having a power source, a drivable device, a head, a motor, a carriage, a sensor, and a controller, is provided. In a recording process, the controller sets a limitation current calculated by subtracting a variable first driving current from an allowable current to the power source, controls the power source to supply the first driving current to the drivable device and simultaneously supply a variable second driving current not exceeding the maximum current to the motor, and when the controller determines, based on a signal output from the sensor, that a behavior of the carriage satisfies an error condition, on condition that the drivable device has completed a targeted conveying action, issue an error alert, and on condition that the drivable device has not completed the targeted conveying action, control the motor to cause the carriage to continue moving without issuing the error alert.

An image recording apparatus having a recorder, a first driving device, a second driving device, a driving-force transmission device, a sensor, a memory, and a controller to conduct a conveying process and a recording process alternately and repetitively, is provided. In the conveying process, on condition that a rotationally driven amount of the first driving device exceeded a target rotation amount, the controller conducts feedback control on the first driving device to rotate reversely. On condition that the first driving device was rotationally driven reversely under the feedback control, the controller stores a maximum value and a stopping value in the memory, determines a correction value, and determines a post-correction rotation amount based on the target rotation amount and an amount corresponding to the correction value, and in the conveying process, the controller drives the first driving device rotationally by the post-correction rotation amount.

A carriage is configured to move by receiving driving force from a carriage motor. A recording head is mounted on the carriage. A controller is configured to: control a power supply to supply a first driving current to a drive target, the first driving current being variable; when a second driving current for driving the carriage motor does not exceed a limiting current, control the power supply to supply the second driving current to the carriage motor, the second driving current being variable, the limiting current being obtained by subtracting the first driving current from an allowable current of the power supply; and when the second driving current exceeds the limiting current, control the power supply to supply a limited second driving current to the carriage motor, the limited second driving current being obtained by cutting a part of the second driving current, the part exceeding the limiting current.

An image recording apparatus includes: a casing having an internal space; a conveying passage formed inside the casing; a first roller pair positioned in the conveying passage, having a driving roller and a driven roller, and configured to pinch a sheet and to convey the sheet in a conveying orientation; a platen positioned on a downstream side in the conveying orientation of the first roller pair, and having a supporting surface supporting the sheet; a recording part positioned above the platen and configured to record an image on the sheet supported by the platen; a second roller pair which is located on the downstream side in the conveying orientation of the supporting surface of the platen, and which is configured to pinch the sheet and to convey the sheet; and a moving mechanism configured to move the platen to a printing position and to a release position.

A slide member slides in conjunction with reciprocation of a carriage. The slide member slides between a first position and a second position to cause a switch gear to move between a plurality of slide positions at which the switch gear engages respective ones of a plurality of transmission gears. The slide member at the second position is closer to a first end of a shaft than the slide member at the first position is. A first cover covers a first sliding contact portion of the shaft over an entire range of the first sliding contact portion in a main scanning direction. The slide member is in sliding contact with the first sliding contact portion when the slide member slides between the first position and the second position. The first sliding contact portion is closer to the first end than the slide member located at the first position is.

A controller is configured to: when both a first conveyor and a second conveyor are operating concurrently, determine whether a reference current value exceeds a threshold value, the reference current value being obtained based on at least one of a first driving current that is a driving current of the first conveyor and a second driving current that is a driving current of the second conveyor; in response to determining that the reference current value exceeds the threshold value, continue an operation of an earlier-driven conveyor that is one of the first conveyor and the second conveyor that is started at earlier timing, and temporarily stop an operation of a later-driven conveyor that is one of the first conveyor and the second conveyor that is started at later timing; and after a driving current of the earlier-driven conveyor drops to a particular standard, restart the operation of the later-driven conveyor.

Image forming system

After an ejector passes an ejection end position, a controller controls a second conveyor to convey a sheet in a sub-scanning direction. The ejection end position is a position at which ink ejection by the ejector ends before reaching a turn position. An ejection start position is a position at which ink ejection by the ejector starts after turning at the turn position. Based on positional relationship between the ejection end position and a standard position, the controller adjusts timing of conveyance of the sheet or shift the turn position from the standard position in a direction of reducing an overlap between a sheet conveyance period after the ejector passes the ejection end position and an ejector deceleration period before the ejector reaches the turn position. The standard position is a standard turn position of the ejector and is determined from the ejection end position and the ejection start position.
