Methods and systems for image segmentation and analysis are described. A predictive model may be trained to identify and/or extract a rich set of image features with extensive prognostic value. For example, the predictive model may be trained to identify and/or extract features that that may be visualized to identify areas of interest (e.g., high-risk regions, etc.) within or adjacent to an object of interest, such a tumor. The predictive model may be trained to identify and/or extract features that that may predict a health related outcome, such as cancer patient survival/death, and modify therapeutic outcomes, such as diagnosis and treatment.

Methods and systems for image segmentation and analysis

Methods and systems are described for a rotating shield brachytherapy device. As disclosed herein, the rotating shield brachytherapy (RSBT) apparatus may comprise a radiation source, a drive assembly, a catheter, and an applicator. The applicator can have an outer surface and opposed proximal and distal end portions and a longitudinal axis extending along a length of the catheter. The distal end portion of the catheter can comprise one or more radiation shields and is configured to receive the radiation source. The drive assembly can be configured to engage the proximal end portion of the catheter to selectively rotate the catheter about the longitudinal axis.

Apparatus and method for rotating shield brachytherapy

Systems and methods for low energy radiation x-ray radiation therapy system for use at a target within a cavity of a subject. In an aspect, the system uses an aperture shaping device used to shape the radiation beam from the low energy radiation source. In an aspect, the aperture shaping device includes a plurality of leaf assemblies which include leaves configured to form the aperture and engage the radiation beam. In an aspect, the present invention utilizes a geared mechanics approach to create an aperture using only one dial input. The design ensures that the field size of the collimator remains a constant shape as it is opened and closed. In an aspect, the overall size of the collimator may be scaled to accommodate various radiation therapy requirements.

System and method for an intensity modulated radiation therapy device

A real-time applicator position monitoring system (RAPS) measures brachytherapy applicator displacement in real-time by computing the relative displacement between two infrared reflective targets, one attached to the applicator and the other to the patient's skin. In an aspect, RAPS can be used with any brachytherapy application. RAPS measures the applicator motion during HDR brachytherapy treatment, as well as during the transfer of the patient from the imaging room (e.g., where the CT and MR scanners are located) to the HDR BT operating/treatment room.

Real-time applicator position monitoring system

Disclosed herein is a marker-flange for use with a brachytherapy applicator, having a flange body with a first face, a second face, and a hollow chamber positioned between the first and second faces. A cavity extending through the flange body is dimensioned to receive a tandem in a brachytherapy applicator in a press-fit connection, so as to affix the flange-marker to an outside surface of the tandem. The hollow chamber includes an MR imaging responsive marker agent that provides strong signal intensities and a high geometric accuracy in MR imaging.
