A toner includes toner particles. Each of the toner particles includes a composite core and a shell layer covering a surface of the composite core. Each of the composite cores is a composite of a toner core and foamable particles provided on a surface of the toner core. An amount of the foamable particles is at least 0.3% by mass relative to mass of the toner cores. Each of the foamable particles includes a base particle and a coat layer covering a surface of the base particle. The base particles are non-foamable. The coat layers include a foamable group. The foamable group is bonded to the surfaces of the base particles through a bond including a bond represented by formula '&#x2014;O&#x2014;Si&#x2014;'.

Toner

A toner includes a plurality of toner particles each including a core and a shell layer entirely covering a surface of the core. The core contains a foamable polymer having a foamable group that is foamable through heating. A first foaming amount is at least 7 mL. The first foaming amount is an amount of gas collected over water during a period from when heating of the toner up to 120&#xb0; C. is started at 30&#xb0; C. to when a temperature of the toner has been kept at 120&#xb0; C. for 30 minutes after the heating. A second foaming amount is at least 6 mL. The second foaming amount is an amount of gas collected over water during a period from when the heating is started at 30&#xb0; C. to when the temperature of the toner reaches 0&#xb0; C. through cooling after the liquid has been kept at 120&#xb0; C. for 30 minutes.

An electrostatic latent image developing toner includes toner particles each including a toner core () and a shell layer () covering a surface of the toner core (). The shell layer () contains a hydrophilic thermosetting resin and a hydrophobic thermoplastic resin. The hydrophilic thermosetting resin is a resin having at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of oxazoline groups, carbodiimide groups, and isocyanate groups. The hydrophobic thermoplastic resin is exposed at surfaces of the toner particle.

Electrostatic latent image developing toner

An electrostatic latent image developing toner includes a plurality of toner particles each including a core and a shell layer covering a surface of the core. The shell layer includes a resin film and a plurality of resin particles. The shell layer contains a first resin forming the resin film, a second resin forming the resin particles, and an alkyl benzene sulfonic acid compound. The first resin is more hydrophobic than the second resin. The second resin is more positively chargeable than the first resin. The second resin has a repeating unit capable of forming a salt with the alkyl benzene sulfonic acid compound.

An electrostatic latent image developing toner includes a plurality of toner particles each including a core and a shell layer. The shell layer is disposed over a surface of the core. The shell layer is substantially formed by a resin. The shell layer has a surface including a plurality of spot regions and a sheet region that is more hydrophobic than the spot regions. The spot regions each are more chargeable than the sheet region.

An electrostatic latent image developing toner includes toner particles that each include a toner core and a shell layer disposed over a surface of the toner core. The shell layer contains a hydrophobic thermoplastic resin and a hydrophilic thermosetting resin. The hydrophobic thermoplastic resin is contained in an amount of no less than 0.2% by mass and no greater than 4.7% by mass relative to mass of the toner particles. The hydrophilic thermosetting resin is contained in an amount of no less than 0.01% by mass and no greater than 0.71% by mass relative to mass of the toner particles. The hydrophobic thermoplastic resin is exposed at a surface of each of the toner particles.

An electrostatic latent image developing toner includes toner particles that each include a toner core and a shell layer disposed over a surface of the toner core. The shell layer contains a first shell resin and a second shell resin. The first shell resin is a hydrophilic thermoplastic resin, a hydrophobic thermoplastic resin, or a hydrophobic thermosetting resin. The second shell resin is a hydrophilic thermosetting resin. The first shell resin includes a repeating unit having an alcoholic hydroxyl group.
