An electric powered vehicle may include a battery ECU housed in a battery pack and a vehicle ECU mounted on a vehicle body and communicably connected to the battery ECU. The vehicle ECU may be configured to transmit first and second identification data for detecting communication disruptions to the battery ECU. The battery ECU may be configured to: when the battery ECU receives both the first and the second identification data, determine that the battery ECU is communicably connected to the vehicle ECU and enable a predetermined mutual monitoring function for the vehicle ECU; and when the battery ECU receives the first identification data but does not receive the second identification data, determine that the battery ECU is communicably connected to another ECU other than the vehicle ECU and disable the mutual monitoring function for the vehicle ECU.

When a user who utilizes a gasoline-powered vehicle shifts to EV car sharing, and the user wishes to have applied a discount for shifting to EV car sharing, a fee setting device setting a car sharing fee requests the user to input a cost paid in the past to purchase gasoline. The fee setting device registers the cost paid to purchase gasoline, as input, and if the cost paid to purchase gasoline is a predetermined amount or more, the fee setting device selects a first discount and sets a basic fee. If the cost paid to purchase gasoline is less than the predetermined amount, the fee setting device selects a second discount and sets a basic fee.

When a process of returning a vehicle is performed, a fee setting device identifies a zone where the vehicle is returned, and calculates the identified zone's zone SOC. The fee setting device determines whether a discount for leveling is applicable. The fee setting device compares a zone SOC of a zone where a user rented a vehicle and a zone SOC of a zone where the user returned the vehicle. When the zone SOC of the zone where the user rented the vehicle is larger than the zone SOC of the zone where the user returned the vehicle, the discount for leveling is applied.

A car sharing system includes a first server configured to manage a first sharing service, a second server configured to manage a second sharing service, and a management server configured to manage virtual user IDs. When a user has performed utilization registration for the first sharing service only, the user makes, to the first server, utilization application for the second sharing service operated by another business operator, from a communication terminal. The first server which has received the utilization application transmits user information to the management server. When the management server receives the user information, the management server allocates the user information to a virtual user ID, and notifies the second server of allocation information. The second server provides the second sharing service using the virtual user ID to which the user information is allocated.

Sneaking of a charging current to a load is avoided, a voltage of a battery is not output to terminals of a connector, and the number of installed switch elements that make conductive or interrupt a feeding path is minimized. A battery pack including a battery that supplies power to a load and to which power is supplied from a charger includes: a relay connector including a first terminal, a second terminal, and a third terminal; a first feeder that connects the load to the first terminal of the relay connector; a second feeder that connects one electrode terminal of the battery to the second terminal of the relay connector; a third feeder for which one terminal is connected to the third terminal of the relay connector; and a switch element that is connected between the other terminal of the third feeder, and the other electrode terminal of the battery. The first terminal and the second terminal of the relay connector are short-circuited by a jumper wire of a jumper plug, and the second terminal and the third terminal of the relay connector are respectively connected to one electrode feeder and the other electrode feeder of the charger by using a charging connector.

An abnormality diagnostic for a MOSFET switch element in a rechargeable battery pack for determining a short circuit abnormality (fusion) in a MOSFET switch element that causes a charge current to flow in. An on/off controller turns off a MOSFET causing a charge current to flow into a battery module, a start-of-charge instruction unit transmits to a charger an instruction signal to start a charging operation, and a short circuit abnormality diagnostic unit determines, based on a current sensor output, whether current is flowing through the MOSFET due to the charging operation to diagnose a short circuit abnormality in the MOSFET. After diagnosis of the MOSFET, a diagnosis of a short circuit abnormality in a MOSFET that causes a discharge current to flow out of the battery module is performed, and then a diagnosis of a short circuit abnormality in a charge relay is performed.
