After AlHis synthesized, ball milling is performed under a condition in which a force of 2 G to 20 G (G represents the acceleration of gravity) is applied, to thereby provide AlHhaving an X-ray diffraction pattern in the form of a halo pattern. That is, for example, nanostructured AlHis provided, in which a grain boundary phase intervenes in a matrix phase, a side length tof the matrix phase is not more than 20 nm, and a width wof the grain boundary phase is not more than 10 nm. Alternatively, amorphous AlHmay be provided. Further, hydrogen is released from AlHon which ball milling has been completed, and then the hydrogen is absorbed to induce a change into AlHx (provided that 0&#x3c;x&#x2266;3 is satisfied). A dopant may also be added. A hydrogen storage container is constructed accommodating the hydrogen absorbing material, which is obtained as described above, inside the container.

An elongate gas distributing tube, which extends in a longitudinal direction of a container, is accommodated within the container that constitutes a gas storage container. Discharge ports, through which the gas is discharged, are provided only on a side circumferential wall of the gas distributing tube. Therefore, the discharged gas advances while being directed toward the inner side wall of the container. The gas distributing tube is surrounded by a gas absorbing/adsorbing material. On the other hand, the gas absorbing/adsorbing material is surrounded by a mixture, which is prepared by mixing the gas absorbing/adsorbing material with a heat storage material, such that heat is absorbed by the heat storage material contained therein.

A rear structure of a gaseous fuel vehicle in this invention includes right and left rear frame members, and a support frame mounted to the right and left rear frame members, on which support frame a gaseous fuel tank is mounted. Each of the right and left rear frame members is constituted by a curved member which includes a curved portion curving upward, and a front linear portion and a rear linear portion which are lower than the highest portion of the curved portion. The support frame is attached to the front linear portions and the rear linear portions. The front linear portions are attached to the rear end of a vehicle frame to provide a low floor in a passenger compartment. A load applied to the rear ends of the right and left rear frame members is dispersed into the right and left rear frame members and the support frame, and transmitted to the vehicle frame.
