In this invention, a control unit in an ophthalmic image processing device acquires an ophthalmic image captured by an ophthalmic image capture device (S). The control unit, by inputting the ophthalmic image into a mathematical model that has been trained by a machine-learning algorithm, acquires a probability distribution in which the random variables are the coordinates at which a specific site and/or a specific boundary of a tissue is present within a region of the ophthalmic image (S). On the basis of the acquired probability distribution, the control unit detects the specific boundary and/or the specific site (S, S).

A controller of a medical image processing device acquires a medical image of a subject. The controller causes a display to display a pre-modification image in which at least the position or range of a lesion to be modified on the medical image is displayed. The controller receives an instruction to designate at least the position or range of the lesion to be modified in a state in which the pre-modification image is displayed on the display. When at least the position or range of the lesion is designated, the controller acquires a predicted disease image in which the lesion is modified according to the designated information on the basis of the medical image. The controller causes the display to display the predicted disease image and the pre-modification image simultaneously or in a switching manner.

A corneal endothelial cell analysis method includes: a step of displaying a photographed image including endothelial cells of a cornea of an examinee's eye on a monitor; a step of setting, based on an operation signal from a user interface, regions of the endothelial cells for each or more than one of the cells with respect to the photographed image displayed on the monitor, the setting step including setting the endothelial cell regions on the one photographed image by use of setting modes including at least a first setting mode of setting the endothelial cell regions and a second setting mode different from the first setting mode; and a step of obtaining an analysis result on the endothelial cells of the examinee's eye based on the endothelial cell regions set by the first setting mode and the endothelial cell regions set by the second setting mode.

A corneal endothelial cell photographing apparatus for photographing endothelial cells of a patient eye's cornea, includes: a cornea photographing optical system including an imaging device and configured to project light toward the cornea and photograph the corneal endothelial cells through the imaging device; a light projecting optical system to project detection light in a first oblique direction to the cornea to detect a focus state of the cornea photographing optical system relative to the cornea; a detecting optical system including a detector with arranged pixels and configured to receive, in a second oblique direction opposite to the first oblique direction, corneal reflection light resulting from the detection light and including reflection light from the corneal endothelium through the detector, and detect an intensity distribution of the corneal reflection light in a depth direction; and a controller to cause a monitor to display the intensity distribution output from the detector.

A corneal endothelial cell photographing apparatus includes: a main unit that includes an illumination optical system, an imaging optical system, and a fixation optical system; a setting unit configured to preliminarily set illumination positions and an illumination order of the plurality of fixation lamps; a controller configured to obtain an endothelial image at a first fixation position, control the fixation optical system corresponding to a determination result for propriety of the endothelial image obtained at the first fixation position to light a fixation lamp corresponding to a second fixation position preliminarily set by the setting unit, and control the illumination optical system and the imaging optical system to obtain an endothelial image at the second fixation position; a monitor configured to display the endothelial image; and an operating unit configured to input a signal for operating at least the controller.

A corneal endothelial cell photographing apparatus for photographing an endothelial cell in the cornea of the examinee's eye includes an optical system, an image processor, and a display controller. The optical system includes an illuminating optical system for irradiating the cornea with illuminating light, and a light receiving optical system including a light detector and configured to receive reflected light from the cornea including the endothelial cell. The image processor analyzes each of endothelial cell images photographed at different positions on the cornea, and acquires an integrated analysis result by integrating the result of analysis of each of the endothelial cell images. The display controller displays the endothelial cell images simultaneously on a monitor with reference to an endothelial cell image photographed at a central portion of the cornea, and displays the integrated analysis result on the same screen as for the endothelial cell images.
