A vehicle power transmission device includes: a continuously variable transmission including a primary pulley, a secondary pulley, and a transmission belt wound between the primary pulley and the secondary pulley; a belt running clutch of hydraulic type for transmitting power to the continuously variable transmission; and a hydraulic control circuit controlling the continuously variable transmission and the belt running clutch. The hydraulic control circuit includes a fail-safe valve switching a communication destination of an oil supply passage for supplying a hydraulic fluid to the belt running clutch to one of a first oil passage supplied with a control hydraulic pressure and a second oil passage supplied with a hydraulic pressure higher than the control hydraulic pressure, the fail-safe valve connecting the oil supply passage with the second oil passage when the fail-safe valve is switched to a failure position. The second oil passage is provided with an orifice.

Vehicle power transmission device

A control apparatus for a vehicle drive-force transmitting apparatus which defines a first drive-force transmitting path provided with a first clutch and a two-way clutch and a second drive-force transmitting path provided with a continuously variable transmission and a second clutch. The control apparatus switches the two-way clutch from its lock mode to its one-way mode, when the second drive-force transmitting path is to be established in place of the first drive-force transmitting path. The drive-force transmitting apparatus includes a hydraulic actuator configured to control switching of the two-way clutch between the lock mode and the one-way mode. When a request for establishing the second drive-force transmitting path in place of the first drive-force transmitting path is made during forward running of the vehicle with the two-way clutch being in the lock mode, the control apparatus executes a dither control for fluctuating a hydraulic pressure applied to the hydraulic actuator.

A hydraulic control unit of a vehicle drive system including an automatic transmission, and an oil pump device, includes: a first electromagnetic valve; a second electromagnetic valve; first and second oil passages; a third oil passage; a manual valve operated to connect and disconnect the first and third oil passages and a drain oil passage to and from each other, in response to an operation of a manually operated shifting device by a vehicle operator, such that the first oil passage is connected to the third oil passage when the shifting device is placed in a first operating position, while the first oil passage is connected to the drain oil passage when the shifting device is placed in a second operating position; an accumulator connected to the first oil passage; and a check valve provided in the second oil passage.

The electronic control unit changes over a secondary clutch to a one-way mode while releasing a first clutch, when a request is made to change over a power transmission path between the engine and the driving wheel from the first power transmission path to the second power transmission path at a time of a predetermined state. A vane oil pump includes a rotor including a plurality of slits, a housing having an inner circumferential cam surface such that a first pump unit and a second pump unit taking in and discharging oil in accordance with rotation of the rotor are separately disposed in a rotational direction of the rotor, a plurality of vanes respectively fitted in the slits of the rotor, and a pressure adjusting device configured to adjust a second discharge pressure of the second pump unit to a lower pressure than a first discharge pressure of the first pump unit. A back pressure groove is disposed on the housing and is provided to supply back pressure oil to a bottom portion of each slit.
