Nuclear spins of particular atoms (14N) which distinctively exist in a crystal of an active pharmaceutical ingredient is manipulated, so that an initial magnetization (modulated magnetization) is caused in nearby hydrogen atoms which exist near the particular atoms in the crystal. The initial magnetization of the nearby hydrogen atoms is spread to peripheral hydrogen atoms which exist at a periphery of the nearby hydrogen atoms in the crystal. A magnetization which is spread in the crystal is directly or indirectly observed.

Nuclear magnetic resonance measurement apparatus and method

A whole measurement process includes a plurality of step combinations. Each of the step combinations is composed of a solution-state measurement step and a solid-state measurement step. In the solution-state measurement step, solution-state NMR measurement is performed such that magnetization that is to be used in the solid-state measurement step remains. In the solid-state measurement step, solid-state NMR measurement is performed by using the magnetization that remains. No waiting time for recovering magnetization is provided between the solution-state measurement step and the solid-state measurement step. The solid-state measurement step may be performed earlier, and the solution-state measurement step may be performed later. Alternatively, the two steps may be performed simultaneously.

NMR measurement method and apparatus

An electron diffraction apparatus measures an overall structure of a crystal of a specimen by electron diffraction. An NMR apparatus measures a local structure of the crystal by NMR measurement. An analysis apparatus combines the overall structure and the local structure to specify a structure of the crystal.

A method is offered which permits NMR measurements of integer spin nuclei to be performed at higher sensitivity than heretofore. In particular, the method enables high-resolution multidimensional correlation NMR measurements on integer spin nucleus S having integer spin S and nucleus I of other spin species. The method starts with applying an RF magnetic field having a frequency that is n times (where n is an integer equal to or greater than 2) the Larmor frequency of the integer spin nucleus S to the spin S. Spectrometer, measuring apparatus, and method of data processing

An NMR measurement method adapted for measurements on solid mixture samples starts with irradiating a pulse sequence to the sample in order to measure the longitudinal magnetization relaxation times of nuclei possessing homogeneous longitudinal magnetization relaxation times (step 1). After a lapse of a given period of time t, a high-resolution NMR spectrum is acquired by nullifying spin diffusion across the nuclei (step 2). The steps 1 and 2 are repeated while varying the period of time t. The high-resolution NMR spectra are classified according to value of longitudinal magnetization relaxation time by inverse Laplace transform.
