An elastic wave element having a piezoelectric substrate equipped with a first main surface, and an excitation electrode arranged on the first main surface and having multiple electrode fingers, wherein, in a cross-sectional view in the direction orthogonal to the first main surface, the width of the electrode fingers at a first height at a distance from the first main surface is greater than the width at a second height located closest to the first main surface.

The crystal element includes: a mesa-shaped crystal piece in a substantially rectangular shape in a plan view including an oscillation section having a first protruded section and a second protruded section; excitation electrodes provided on both main surfaces of the oscillation section; leading sections provided side by side along a prescribed side of the crystal piece; and a wiring section connecting between the excitation electrodes and the leading sections. The first protruded section and the second protruded section include sloping side faces. The side face of the first protruded section located on the +X-side overlaps with the side face of the second protruded section located on the +X side, and the side face of the first protruded section located on the &#x2212;X-side overlaps with the side face of the second protruded section located on the &#x2212;X side.

Crystal element and crystal device

An electronic component has a mounting board, a bump located on a mounting surface of the mounting board, a SAW device located on the bump and connected to the bump. The SAW device has an element substrate, an excitation electrode located on the first primary surface of the element substrate, a pad located on the first primary surface and connected to the excitation electrode, and a cover located above the excitation electrode and formed with a pad exposure portion on the pad. Further, the SAW device makes the top surface of the cover face the mounting surface, makes the bump be located in the pad exposure portion, and makes the pad abut against the bump.
