A heads-up display (HUD) mirror housing. The HUD mirror housing includes a peripheral frame portion extending along a longitudinal axis, a rear body portion connected to the peripheral frame portion connected to each other to house a mirror such that a reflective surface of the mirror is exposed, and first and second pegs extending away from the peripheral frame portion and extending along the longitudinal axis. In this embodiment, the first peg has a first bearing surface configured to bear against a first bracket mounting slot when the HUD mirror housing is in an assembled configuration.

Head-up display (HUD) mirror assembly and housing

A heads-up display (HUD) system is disclosed in various embodiments. The HUD system includes a window plate defining an opening to enable light emitting from HUD components to pass therethrough. The window plate includes an inner trough wall and an outer trough wall that cooperate to define a trough therebetween that at least partially surrounds the opening. A transparent cover is attached to the window plate and covers the opening. The cover has a perimeter and an overhang portion located along at least a portion of the perimeter. The opening has a center and the overhang portion extends further from the center than the inner trough wall to facilitate liquid traveling across the cover to enter the trough and inhibit the liquid from entering an interface between the cover and the window plate. The outer trough wall can have a raised profile relative to the cover to protect the cover.

Heads-up display with irrigation trough

A head-up display (HUD) assembly for a vehicle is provided. A backlight assembly case is made of a material having a thermal conductivity exceeding 15 W/mK and an emissivity of at least 0.8. A light source is provided. A thin film transistor (TFT) panel has a first axial surface and a second axial surface. A portion of light emitted from the light source transmits through the TFT panel from the first axial surface to the second axial surface, and a portion of the TFT panel is mounted to the backlight assembly case in a direct face-to-face relationship.

System and assembly for controlling temperature in head-up displays

A vehicle head-up display includes a liquid crystal panel, a light source, a first polarizing panel, and a second polarizing panel. The liquid crystal panel has opposing input and output surfaces. The liquid crystal panel is configured to form an image oriented relative to a horizontal axis. The light source is configured to direct light toward the input surface, through the liquid crystal panel, and out of the output surface to project the image onto an interior surface of a vehicle windshield. The first polarizing panel is secured to the output surface and has a first polarization axis oriented at a first angle relative to the horizontal axis. The second polarizing panel is disposed between the first polarizing panel and the windshield. The second polarizing panel has a second polarization axis oriented oriented at a second angle relative to the horizontal axis.

Head-up display device

A display unit displays supplied image information on or through a front glass of a vehicle. A system controller generates and supplies the image information to the display unit. The image information indicates lane guides of the traveling lane, which correspond to a configuration of a traveling lane that is viewed from a view point position of a driver through the front glass. The system controller sets a display color of the lane guides displayed by the display unit to a color, which is distinguishable from a color of a road surface.
