An electro-optical device may include a first substrate, a second substrate, a seal member extending in a first direction and disposed between the first and second substrates in a seal region defined around a pixel area, a first conductive layer disposed between the first substrate and the seal member and extending in a second direction intersecting with the first direction, a second conductive layer disposed between the first substrate and the first conductive layer and extending in the second direction, a third layer disposed in the pixel area and formed of the first conductive layer, and a fourth layer disposed in the pixel area and formed of the second conductive layer. In plan view, the first conductive layer overlaps the second conductive layer in the seal region. In a cross-sectional view the first direction, the second conductive layer is larger in an outer shape than the first conductive layer.

An opposing substrate as a substrate for an electro-optical device includes a transparent base member and a light shielding portion disposed on a region between pixels on the base member. The light shielding portion includes a first reflective film and a second reflective film that is disposed to overlap the first reflective film and has a reflection rate lower than that of the first reflective film, and a first protective film that covers the first reflective film is provided between the first reflective film and the second reflective film.

An electro-optical device may include a first substrate including a pixel area in which a plurality of pixels are aligned, a second substrate, a seal member disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate so as to bond the first substrate and the second substrate together, the seal member being disposed in a seal region defined around the pixel area, a first conductive layer disposed between the first substrate and the seal member, a second conductive layer disposed between the first conductive layer and the first substrate, a third layer disposed in the pixel area and formed of the first conductive layer, and a fourth layer disposed in the pixel area and formed of the second conductive layer. The second conductive layer is larger in an outer shape than the first conductive layer in the seal region in plan view.

An electro-optical device may include a first substrate, a second substrate, a seal member between the first substrate and the second substrate, and a first conductive layer and a second conductive layer between the first substrate and the seal member. The first substrate may include a pixel area and a seal region around the pixel area and in which the seal member is provided. A liquid crystal device includes a first dummy pixel and a second dummy pixel adjacent to each other in an X direction, in which width of a first portion of a scanning line between a first transistor of the first dummy pixel and a second transistor of the second dummy pixel is larger than width of a second portion of the scanning line between the second transistor and a third transistor of a pixel.

Electro-optical device and electronic apparatus

An electro-optical device may include a first substrate, a second substrate, a photo-curable seal member between the first substrate and the second substrate, a first light-shielding layer between the first substrate and the photo-curable seal member, and a second light-shielding layer between the first substrate and the first light-shielding layer. The first substrate may include a pixel area in which pixels are aligned, and a seal region around the pixel area and in which the photo-curable seal member is provided. Within the seal region, the second light-shielding layer may be larger in an outer shape or pattern than the shape or pattern of first light-shielding layer. The pixel area may include an interconnect layer made of the same layer as the one of the light-shielding layers, and the interconnect layer may be narrower than one of the light-shielding layers.

An electro-optical device includes a pair of substrates bonded together via a seal member disposed in a seal region, and a plurality of light-shielding layers formed so as to overlap with each other on one of the substrates, and one of the plurality of light-shielding layers is larger in outer shape than another light-shielding layer formed at a level higher than the one of the light-shielding layer, in plan view from above the one of the substrates.

A heat dissipating member is formed so as to be opposed to a reflection type liquid crystal panel. The heat dissipating member includes a heat receiving portion that is opposed to a reflection type light modulation element and has a heat receiving surface for receiving heat from the element, a heat dissipating fin that dissipates heat received on the heat receiving portion to the outside. The heat receiving portion has heat receiving convexes which project to the side at which the element is arranged from the heat receiving surface, and the convexes are formed such that ratios of areas of tip surfaces of the heat receiving convexes with respect to a unit area are larger on a center portion of a heat reception acceleration region rather than on an end of the heat reception acceleration region.
