A fuel cell system includes a cathode gas supply passage through which cathode gas is supplied to the fuel cell stack, a cathode gas discharge passage through which the cathode gas is discharged from the fuel cell stack, a turbo compressor provided in the cathode gas supply passage for delivering the cathode gas to the fuel cell stack, a valve provided in the cathode gas supply passage or the cathode gas discharge passage, and a controller that controls constituent components of the fuel cell system including the turbo compressor and the valve. The controller performs cathode-gas flow rate change control to alternately open and close the valve, in a condition where the turbo compressor is driven, when the fuel cell stack is not required to generate electric power.

Fuel cell system and method of controlling the same

A fuel cell system includes: a fuel cell; a compressor; a supply adjusting valve adjusting an amount of air to be supplied; a bypass valve adjusting a flow rate of the air passing through the bypass flow passage; a flow rate measuring unit measuring a flow rate of the air; a pressure measuring unit measuring a pressure of the air; an opening control unit outputting an opening control signal for controlling degrees of opening of the supply adjusting valve and the bypass valve; a rotation speed control unit outputting a rotation speed control signal for controlling a rotation speed of the compressor; and a determination unit determining that the bypass valve is stuck open when the flow rate is less than a flow rate threshold value, and determines that pipe disconnection has occurred when the flow rate is equal to or greater than the flow rate threshold value.

Fuel cell system

An onboard battery mounted in a front section of a space located behind a rearmost seat of an automobile includes: an assembly battery including electrode terminals arranged on a rear surface of the assembly battery in a vehicle frontward and rearward direction; and a battery case housing the assembly battery. A case rear-surface member forming a rear surface of the battery case is provided with a ridge portion that faces at least a part of a rear surface of the assembly battery in the vehicle frontward and rearward direction in a manner so as to avoid the electrode terminals, the ridge portion projecting toward the assembly battery. When the case rear-surface member moves toward the assembly battery, the ridge portion comes into contact with the assembly battery before the case rear-surface member applies force to the electrode terminals.

Onboard battery

A temperature adjustment structures includes a first duct, a blower, and a second duct. The first duct includes an intake port. The blower is connected to the first duct and configured to take in air through the intake port. The blower is placed forward of an electric storage apparatus in the vehicle. The second duct is connected to the blower and the electric storage apparatus and configured to direct the air from the blower to the electric storage apparatus. The second duct extends downward in the vehicle from the blower toward the electric storage apparatus. The electric storage apparatus is housed in a recessed portion of a floor panel, and the recessed portion is located below a luggage compartment of the vehicle.
