A plug-type connector for connecting end portions of a pair of FFCs extending in parallel to each other. The connecter is provided with: a holder having a placing frame provided on the surface and backside thereof with a pair of placing faces on which the end portions of the pair of FFCs are respectively placed; and a fixing member capable of fixing the end portions of the FFCs to the corresponding placing faces of the holder. The fixing member includes: an annular portion which defines an insertion hole into which the placing frame of the holder with the end portions of the FFCs placed on the corresponding placing faces, can be inserted together with the FFCs; and engagement portions which are engageable with corresponding engaged portions of the holder when the annular portion is brought toward the holder with the pair of FFCs previously inserted into the insertion hole of the annular portion.

Plug-type connector and electric connector comprising the same

A plug-type connector for connecting an FFC. The connector is provided with: a holder including a placing plate on which an end portion of the FFC is placed as temporarily held; and a fixing member capable of fixing the end portion of the FFC to the holder. The fixing member includes: an annular portion into which the placing plate of the holder with the end portion of the FFC placed thereon, is inserted together with the FFC; and engagement portions which are engageable with corresponding engaged portions of the holder when the annular portion is brought toward the holder with the FFC previously inserted into the annular portion.

There is provided an electric connector for simplifying the structure of the cable holding mechanism without using a special cable holding piece, reducing the number of man-hours by simplifying the operation of attaching the cable holding mechanism to a connector housing. The electric connector with a cable holding mechanism comprises a plug proper having a plurality of connector terminals fitted therein at an inner opening thereof and a cable drawing face from which wires connected to the connector terminals is drawn out, a cover cap to be fitted to the plug proper in a state where the cable drawing face is covered therewith and the cable is drawn outside, and a cable holding mechanism formed on a wall face of the cover cap. The cable holding mechanism is made up of two vertical grooves each having a width in which a flexible strip-like piece of a cable bundling piece is inserted at a position in the vicinity of a cable drawing opening formed at the inner face of the cover cap.

Electric connector with cable holding mechanism

A connector for coupling panels which does not influence upon an electrically connected part of a connector to be attached to a panel even if an external force is applied to the panel. The connector for coupling panels comprises an insulating housing having a through hole therein through which connector terminals are fitted therein, flanges orthogonal to a direction of insertion and removal through the insulating housing and projected outwardly from at least one wall face of the insulating housing, comprising front and back faces, respectively, and a pair of retainer members having flexibility, fixedly attached to both side ends or both up-down ends of the insulating housing, respectively, wherein the retainer members are provided with a pair of retainer stepped parts, facing each other, and there is a gap for allowing fixture of the panel between the front and back faces of the respective flanges and the respective retainer stepped parts of the retainer members.

Connector for coupling panels and method of coupling panels using the connector

A connector with retainer members which is not broken even if elastic retainer pieces of the retainer members are excessively bent when the connector is attached to a panel. The connector with retainer members comprises an insulating housing proper having penetration holes inside thereof through which a plurality of connector terminals are fitted therein, flanges protruded outwardly from right and left or upper and lower wall faces of the housing proper in a direction orthogonal to a direction of insertion and removal of the connector, a pair of retainer members having elasticity and fixedly attached to both sides of the back face of the flanges. The retainer members comprise posts fixedly attached to the flanges, and elastic retainer pieces having flexibility and formed by folding back the posts in a substantially inverted V-shape from each head thereof, and said elastic retainer pieces comprise retainer stepped parts at tip ends engaged with peripheral edges of attachment ports of a panel, and tongue pieces provided on the tip end of the retainer stepped parts and the tip ends of the tongue pieces are butted against the posts for restricting the elastic retainer pieces from being excessively bent.

A connector with retainer members attachable to a panel from a direction of either a front or back wall face thereof, and easily removable from the panel. The connector comprises an insulating housing having a through hole therein with connector terminals fitted in the through-hole, flanges orthogonal to a direction of insertion and removal through the insulating housing and projected outwardly from at least one wall face of the insulating housing, comprising front and back wall faces, respectively, and a pair of retainer members having flexibility, fixedly attached to both side ends or both up-down ends of the insulating housing, respectively. The retainer members are provided with a pair of retainer stepped parts, facing each other, and there is a gap for allowing fixture of the panel between the front and back wall faces of the respective flanges and the respective retainer stepped parts of the retainer members.

In an insulation displacement connector including a retainer, a turn-down portion of a retainer is fit to hood portions provided at an end of an outer wall having electric wire insertion holes opened in a connector housing. Contacts are pressed by an inner portion of the turn-down portion. The connector housing is held by holding portions which continue to opposite sides of the turn-down portion. Further, the holding portions are engaged with the connector housing against a direction of drawing-out the contacts.

Retainer-including insulation displacement connector

An insulation displacement connector including a retainer, a turned-down portion of a retainer is fit to hood portions provided at an end of an outer wall having electric wire insertion holes opened in a connector housing wherein contacts of the connector are pressed by an inner portion of the turned-down portion. The connector housing is held by holding portions which extend to opposite sides of the turned-down portion. Further, the holding portions of the connector are engaged with the connector housing against a direction of a drawing-out force acting on the contacts.

In an insulation displacement connector including a connector housing, a connector housing rear half portion for receiving slots of contacts is provided on a side more rear than a support portion and an elastic arm in a locking mechanism. Electric wire insertion holes communicating with the slots are opened in a first outer wall surface located at one end of the connector housing rear half portion in a heightwise direction. A portion, corresponding to the slots, of a second outer wall surface opposite to the first outer wall surface is provided as a pressure-receiving wall for receiving an insulation displacement load.
