A multi-robotic U-shaped disassembly line, a method for disassembling components on the multi-robotic U-shaped disassembly line, and a non-transitory computer readable medium that cause one or more processors to perform the method for disassembling components on the multi-robotic U-shaped disassembly line are provided. The multi-robotic U-shaped disassembly line uses multiple robots, assigned to multiple workstations to perform disassembly tasks without precedence and conflict relationships, so that different types of end-of-life products can be disassembled. A mathematical model is established to maximize the disassembly profit and minimize the smoothness index for the multi-robotic U-shaped disassembly line. An Improved Multi-objective Discrete Brainstorming Optimization (IMDBO) algorithm is utilized to identify improvements for the multi-robotic U-shaped disassembly line.

A time-aware application task scheduling system for a green data center (GDC) that includes a task scheduling processor coupled to one or more queue processors and an energy collecting processor connected to one or more renewable energy sources and a grid power source. The systems is capable of determining a service rate for a plurality of servers to process a plurality of application tasks in the GDC and scheduling, via processing circuitry, one or more of the application tasks to be executed in one or more of the servers at a rate according to a difference in an accumulated arriving rate for the plurality of application tasks into the one or more queues and a removal rate for the plurality of application tasks from the one or more queues. The system is further capable of removing the one or more application tasks from their associated queues for execution in the scheduled one or more servers.

A method of making an array of aligned hafnium oxide nanotubes is provided. The method includes generating a first reactant gas from a first solution comprising a first hafnium precursor dissolved in a first solvent. Directing the flow of the first reactant gas over a substrate to form a seed layer that comprises particles of hafnium oxide. The method further includes generating a second reactant gas from a second solution comprising a second hafnium precursor dissolved in a second solvent. Directing the flow of the second reactant gas over the seed layer to form the array of aligned hafnium oxide nanotubes substantially perpendicular on a surface of the substrate. A method of using the array of aligned hafnium oxide tubes for detection of toxic gases in a gas sample is also provided.

A method of detecting antimony ions in a fluid sample whereby the fluid sample is contacted with the fluorescent nanocomposite to form a mixture, and a fluorescence emission profile of the mixture is measured to determine a presence or absence of antimony ions in the fluid sample, wherein a reduction in intensity of a fluorescence emissions peak associated with the fluorescent nanocomposite indicates the presence of antimony ions in the fluid sample.

Methods of forming graphene may include reacting a dispersed mixture, comprising fly ash, a charged heteroaromatic compound, particularly a pyridinium compound, such as a 1-(4-pyridyl)-pyridinium salt, and a solvent, particularly an alcohol, such as ethanol, with a polymeric oxidizing agent, preferably polymer-supported pyridinium chlorochromate, to form a second mixture; and contacting the second mixture at a temperature of 120 to 180&#xb0; C. with a gas stream comprising at least 0.1 vol. % CHand at least 10 vol. % Hto form graphene on the fly ash. Methods of managing waste may comprise using fly ash waste to produce graphene. Devices for implementing such methods may involve steel cylindrical reaction vessels including a cover through which a valve-stoppable pipe is fed, which reaction vessel is at least partially surrounded by a heating device, and suitable for handling solvent and fly ash, as well as for receiving gas inflow through the pipe.

An AUC-maximized high-accuracy classification method and system for imbalanced datasets integrates an under-sampling-and-ensemble strategy, a true-outliers-removing strategy and a fake-outliers-concealing strategy, with the hope to effectively and robustly enhance both the AUC and the accuracy metrics in imbalanced classification. Applying under-sampling to construct multiple sub-datasets and assembling classification results of multiple classifiers greatly decline the risk of misclassification and lead to highly accurate and robust results in imbalanced classification task. Moreover, this invention pays attention to detect and identify extremely hidden outliers in a sub-dataset which includes a sub-majority dataset and the entire minority dataset. In this way, more hidden outliers can be located and thus exert less influence on the decision boundary, which contributes to both high AUC and accuracy. Furthermore, this invention proposes to conceal fake outliers when building decision boundary, which can achieve a higher classification accuracy of the majority class without changing that of the minority class.

The spherical/ball like materials are easily cleaned and are amenable to being reused several times.

A photodiode comprising a photoactive spinel oxide layer is described. This photoactive spinel oxide layer forms a contact with both a light absorption layer of quantum dots, quantum wires, or quantum rods, and an inorganic substrate layer. In some embodiments, the inorganic substrate layer and the photoactive spinel oxide layer form an isotype junction. Methods of characterizing the photodiode are provided and demonstrate commercially relevant electrical and optoelectronic properties, particularly the ability to operate as a photodetector with a high photosensitivity. An economical process for preparing the photodiode is provided as well as applications.
