A method that determines a resource at a first user equipment (UE) for a sidelink communication from the second UE to a first UE is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the method receives a request from the second UE to send data to the first UE. In addition, the method determines a preconfigured resource selection window that is used by the second UE. Furthermore, the method determines a first sensing result at the first UE. The determined first sensing result includes information to be reported to the second UE for a resource selection. The determined first sensing results has a plurality of first sensing types. Further, the method transmits the first sensing result from the first UE to the second UE.

Methods and apparatus for sidelink resource exclusion for intra-device coordination in wireless communication

Methods and systems to enhance NR RACH procedure to accommodate non-terrestrial networks (NTN) are disclosed. The length of the RAR window may be extended. A NTN-RNTI associated with the time-frequency resources used for the PRACH preamble may be used to scramble the CRC of DCI used for downlink assignment in the RAR. The DCI content may include information on the associated PRACH preamble to assist the UE in distinguishing between RARs generated as a response to PRACH preambles transmitted by different UEs from different system frames. The NTN-RNTI may contain information on the system frames when the UE sends the PRACH preamble. The RA-RNTI associated with the time-frequency resources used for the PRACH preambles transmitted from different frames may be used to scramble different subsets of the CRC of the DCI format 1_0 to assist the UE in distinguishing between RARs generated in response to the different PRACH preambles.

RACH procedures for non-terrestrial networks for user equipment

A method and apparatus for determining a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) search space monitoring configuration for a wireless device that specifies PDCCH monitoring for one subcarrier spacing (SCS) selected from a group of subcarrier spacings (SCSs) that are related to a spectrum in 5G new radio (NR) above 52.6 GHz are described. In one embodiment, the monitoring limits associated with each of the SCSs are applied per slot per CC and the user equipment (UE) decode complexity associated with performing the monitoring limits for the different SCSs in the group is equal. In one embodiment, the monitoring limits associated with each of the SCSs are for a slot group of a plurality of slots and are for application over a duration of the slot group.

Systems and methods for base station configuration of PDCCH monitoring in a wireless device

This disclosure describes improving a 4-step RACH procedure by using a 2-step RACH procedure. A UE transmits a PRACH preamble and associated MsgA physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) on a configured time and frequency resource. After successful detection of the PRACH preamble, and decoding of the MsgA PUSCH, the gNB transmits MsgB in the second step. Generally, a mapping is used between the PRACH preamble and the PUSCH resource unit for 2-step RACH. This disclosure describes the mapping for 2-step RACH.

Mapping between PRACH preambles and PUSCH resource units for 2-step RACH

A method and apparatus of a device that determines an occurrence of the DL SPS or the UL CG to determine a periodicity of a packet generation is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the method receives a configuration for a downlink (DL) Semi-Persistent Scheduling (SPS) or an uplink (UL) Configured Grant (CG). The configuration includes an indication of non-integer periodicity of the DL SPS or the UL CG. Additionally, the method determines an occurrence of the DL SPS or the UL CG based on the received configuration for the DL SPS or the UL CG to determine a periodicity of a packet generation. Thereafter, the method transmits or receives data based on the configuration for the DL SPS or the UL CG.

Methods and apparatus for support of data transmission traffic with non-integer periodicity in wireless communication

Methods and systems are disclosed to configure different paging occasions for enhanced UEs that support, and for legacy UEs that do not support, the enhanced feature of the paging early indication (PEI) in paging procedure for 5G/LTE networks. Different paging occasions for the enhanced and legacy UEs may be configured by providing separate paging occasion parameters for the enhanced and legacy UEs. The network may use the separate paging parameters to design the PEI to save signaling overhead. The network may reuse paging format for the paging PDCCH to serve as the PEI that is transmitted in advance of the paging occasions for the enhanced UEs, or may keep legacy paging PDCCH at its current locations to serve as the PEI for the enhanced UEs. A scheduling offset may be configured to separate in time the paging PDCCH serving as the PEI and the paging PDSCH containing the paging message.

Methods for flexible configuration of paging occasions

A base station that determines a slot for uplink reception for a non-terrestrial network link between a base station and a user equipment is described. In exemplary embodiments, the base station determines a timing advance based on at least a random access preamble reception and determines an uplink offset based on the timing advance. The base station may further determine a candidate slot for an uplink reception based on at least the offset. In addition, the base station may determine if the candidate slot is available for the uplink reception. The base station may use the candidate slot for the uplink reception when the candidate uplink slot is available and may use the next available slot for the uplink reception when the candidate uplink slot is not available.

Extending a time gap range for non-terrestrial networks

A sidelink transmission and an uplink transmission that is carrying a sidelink hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) are both scheduled for transmission in a shared time window. If a priority associated with the sidelink HARQ is considered to be higher than a priority associated with the sidelink transmission, then a higher priority is assigned to the uplink transmission, regardless of whether the uplink transmission contains other uplink data. Otherwise, if the uplink transmission does not carry other uplink data, then the higher priority is assigned to the sidelink transmission. Greater transmission resources are given to the transmission with the higher priority.

Fallback procedure for 2-step RACH

A method and apparatus of a device that determines a physical downlink shared channel scheduling resource for a user equipment device and a base station is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the device selects a plurality of component carriers from a pool of available component carriers associated with a wireless link established between the user equipment device and the base station. In addition, the device selects a virtual component carrier from the plurality of component carriers. Furthermore, the device determines a physical downlink shared channel scheduling resource based on at least the virtual component carrier.

Methods and apparatus for multiple component carrier physical downlink shared channel scheduling in wireless communication

Handling uplink transmissions for multi-TRP operation

A user equipment (UE) device comprising a processor configured to perform operations is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the operations include comprising establishing a sidelink session with a transmitting UE; configuring the sidelink session to support coordinated resource selection prior to performing the local sensing; performing a local sensing; receiving a PSCCH and a PSSCH from the transmitting UE. The transmitting UE reserves multiple resources. The processor is further configured to perform operations including determining whether a collision happens among the multiple reserved resources; and transmitting the coordination message to the transmitting UE.

Methods and apparatus for inter-UE coordinated resource allocation in wireless communication

A method and apparatus of a device that switches bandwidth parts for a user equipment device and a base station is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the device receives an indication to switch to the bandwidth part for the user equipment on the wireless link from the base station. In addition, the device switches to the new bandwidth part for the user equipment. The device further signals that the switching to the new bandwidth part has occurred in a time period smaller than a predefined time period. The deice additionally communicates information on the wireless link using the new bandwidth part.

A described technique performed by a user equipment (UE) includes monitoring a downlink reference signal from a base station; transmitting, via a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) associated with a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process number, a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) in response to a change in a quality of the downlink reference signal, wherein the BFRQ comprises new beam information; receiving, by the UE, a downlink control information (DCI) message to trigger a PUSCH transmission corresponding to the HARQ process number; and transmitting, by the UE after at least a predetermined number of symbols from a last symbol of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) reception containing the DCI message, information via a PUCCH in accordance with the new beam information. The UE can apply the new beam information to uplink and downlink channels.
