An ultra-hard material fixed to a cutting tool is formed into a cutting blade by electric discharge machining. The wire electric discharge machine has a rotating shaft to which the cutting tool is mounted, and has a touch sensor mounted to an upper wire guide. A measurement program is generated on the basis of a machining path instructed by the machining program. A machining program is regenerated from rotating shaft coordinate information and path coordinate position information obtained at measurement points, on the basis of the measurement program. As a result, a rake face position of the cutting tool can be accurately measured and a wire electrode can be positioned accurately with respect to that position during machining.

A machining program used for machining a workpiece with a wire-cut electric discharge machine is used for measuring a shape of the workpiece. A wire electrode moved in a direction away from the workpiece by an offset command for machining is moved close to the workplace in workplace measurement after the machining. In other words, the wire electrode is moved in an opposite direction to an offset direction for the machining. Then, an end face position of the machined workpiece detected by a position of the wire electrode when the wire electrode comes in contact with the workpiece.

The device for treating working fluid includes a fluid level detecting device for detecting a fluid level of cleaned fluid in a cleaned fluid tank, and a control unit for determining an adjustment value for a discharge rate command for a filter device pump, based on the fluid level detected by the fluid level detecting device. The control unit operates to determine a renewed discharge rate command by adding the adjustment value thus determined to the present discharge rate command, and to output the renewed discharge rate command to a pump controller. Also when an alarm indicating wire cut failure is sent out, the chip is replaced and the total wear rate R is reset to 0. Further, the device is so arranged to be able to replace the wear rate (1/P) stored on the basis of data obtained by actual cutting.

Used wire cutting device for wire cut electric discharge machine

A wire-cut electric discharge machine capable of taking out a cutoff piece smoothly upwardly of a workpiece even if the cutoff piece has a complicated shape, by holding the cutoff piece horizontally not to change an orientation thereof. The wire-cut electric discharge machine comprises a takeout head having a plurality of permanent magnets for holding the cutoff piece by magnetic force and a motion restriction member for restricting motion of the held cutoff piece relative to the permanent magnets. The cutoff piece is held by the takeout head by projecting the selected permanent magnets from the motion restricting member by the sliding apparatus, and the held cutoff piece is released by retracting the selected permanent magnets into the motion restricting member by the sliding apparatus.

A wire electric discharge machine having a simple mechanism for retracting and collecting a cutoff piece (machined chip or machined product). A cutoff piece receiving basket for receiving a cutoff piece produced during machining is attached to a support bar mounted to a lower guide block, the basket being rotatably supported by a rotary support shaft. A bearing provided in the support bar is located immediately short of a cam block, and then fitted into a slot by X-axis movement. A moment is applied to the support bar by Y-axis movement to rotate the cutoff piece receiving basket around the rotary support shaft, so that the basket is retreated to above a cutoff piece collecting box and then turned over, whereby a cutoff piece received in the basket falls into the collecting box. The cutoff piece receiving basket may be rotated manually or rotated by use of a robot, a special-purpose motor, an air cylinder, etc.

Wire electric discharge machine

A wire electric discharge machining apparatus having a structure for supplying power to a wire electrode which prolongs the life of a power supply element and reduces manufacturing and running costs. A guide roller is driven by a small motor through a lead screw and guides the wire electrode above and/or below the power supply element, formed as a flat plate and driven in an oscillating direction perpendicular to a running direction of the wire electrode and parallel to a flat surface of the power supply element. A contact position of the wire electrode on the power supply element is varied over an area of a wide range, avoiding creation of a groove or the like, attributable to friction, in the power supply element and extending the life thereof.
