A polyolefin resin composition comprises a component A consisting of polypropylene or a propylene-ethylene block copolymer whose MFR is greater than 16 (g/10 minutes); a component B consisting of an ethylene based rubber; and a component D compatible with the component B. A ratio of summation of the propylene-ethylene copolymer part in the component A, the component B, and the component D to summation of the components A, B, and D is 25 wt. % or more and 45 wt. % or less. Further, a ratio of the blend quantity of the component D to summation of the blend quantities of the components B and D is less than 0.8. An injection molding composition includes: 100 parts by weight of a propylene-ethylene copolymer comprising a crystalline portion and a non-crystalline portion; and 17 to 33 parts by weight of inorganic particles capable of imparting at least one of rigidity and heat resistance to the propylene-ethylene copolymer. The propylene-ethylene copolymer has a melt flow rate of 15 to 50 g/10 min and a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of not less than 5. A crystalline ethylene polymer contained in the crystalline portion and a non-crystalline propylene-ethylene copolymer contained in the non-crystalline portion have a total amount ranging from 10 to 20% by weight.

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a composite material comprising a matrix resin of a thermal plastic resin and a liquid crystal resin which has a liquid crystal transition temperature higher than the minimum temperature of capable of molding said thermal plastic resin and which is formed into a fiber structure as a reinforcing material. The method is characterized in that the composite composition is subjected to a melt extrusion process at an apparent shear rate of 3.times.10.sup.2 to 10.sup.5 sec.sup.-1 and above the liquid crystal transition temperature. The resulting material in a filament or thin film has fibers of the liquid crystal resin having an aspect of more than 3 in the matrix resin, so that it is provided with an improved tensile strength by further being subjected to a drawing process at a drawing ratio of 11 to 120. As the composite materials have too small diameter or thickness to be molded in a desired product, they are preferably further subjected to a gathering process, a folding process or a laminating process in which a plurality of strand or film materials are welded to each other at the surface thereof and formed into a strand or sheet form capable of molding.
