The coin sorting system includes a feed unit, a sorting unit, and a passageway member. Each unit has a rotary disc and a stationary member opposed to the disc. Each disc has a rotating axis inclined relative to a horizontal plane. A guide passageway with an outlet thorough which coins are fed one by one as the disc rotates is formed on the stationary member of the feed unit. Provided on the stationary member of the sorting unit are a conveying passageway with an inlet thorough which the coins fed from the outlet are introduced one by one and multiple sorting devices each for selectively ejecting the coins. A rolling-coin passageway is formed on the passageway member extending aslope to cause the coins to roll from the outlet to the inlet under own weight thereof.

Coin sorting system

A downstream side of a chute associated with at least one sorting hole is branched into a first chute and a second chute, through which coins ejected from the sorting hole are guided into first and second temporary storages, respectively. A route-switching mechanism is also provided that switches, between the two chutes, a route of the coins ejected from the sorting hole. The following control is conducted for the coins of a denomination to be ejected from the sorting hole. (i) Switching the route of the coins ejected from the sorting hole from the first chute to the second chute in appropriate timing to ensure that the last coin (C) to be received into the first temporary storage enters the first chute, and (ii) controlling an ejection mechanism to eject, among coins following the last coin, all coins that have reached the ejection mechanism () earlier that the above route-switching operation.

Coin sorting device

A coin sorting apparatus includes a stationary member and a rotary disk member arranged under the stationary member. The stationary member has a guide structure for guiding coins, and the guide structure includes a coin passage and at least one coin-sorting guide. Each coin-storing guide has a step arranged so that a peripheral portion of a coin having a diameter greater than a reference diameter runs up onto the step.

Coin sorting apparatus

A coin sorting apparatus has a passage member provided with an ejecting hole and a guide member extended on a passage surface of the passage member. A conveyor belt holds coins together with the passage surface to convey coins along the guide member. A support roller is disposed under an ejecting hole opposite to the conveyor belt. The ejecting hole is contiguous with the guide member and has a guiding slide wall that extends obliquely away from the guide member toward a downstream side of the passage member. The support roller can be turned between a coin-passing position where its upper end is at a level not lower than that of the upper edge of the guiding side wall and a coin ejecting position where the upper end is at a level lower than that of the upper edge of the guiding side wall.

The present invention relates to a coin sorting apparatus comprising a stationary member, and a rotary disk supported for rotation and disposal under the stationary member contiguously with a lower surface of the stationary member. The coin sorting apparatus is constructed such that coins slide along the lower surface of the stationary member as the rotary disk rotates, and such that these sliding coins are guided into a coin passage. The apparatus is adapted to receive coins including a deformed coin bent such that a convex side thereof faces the lower surface of the stationary member. The coin passage has a recessed-profile configured to accommodate the convex side of the deformed coin to ensure engagement of an outer edge of the deformed coin with a radial inner edge portion of the coin passage.

A coin sorting apparatus (S) has a presorting unit (A) and two main sorting units (B , B ). The presorting unit (A) sorts mixed coins into three groups (large coin group, medium coin group, small coin group). The main sorting units (B , B ) sort by denomination coins of the two groups (medium coin group, small coin group) among the three groups of coins broadly sorted by the presorting unit (A). Thus, the number of denominations to be dealt with by a single sorting operation can be reduced.

Coin assorter and coin inputting device

A device for determining the diameters of circular objects such as coins is made up of a pair of photo-electric converters which are extended from both sides of a coin passageway towards the central line of the latter, a pair of light-shielded portion area measuring circuits for producing signals representing the areas of the portions of the converters which are shielded from light by a circular object according to the outputs of the converters, an adder for providing the sum of the outputs of the two light-shielded portion area measuring circuits, a maximum value memory circuit for storing the maximum of the outputs of the adder which are provided during passage of one circular object through the converters, and a circuit for determining the diameter of the circular object according to the data stored in the maximum value memory circuit.
