A polymeric composition includes (i) a copolymer of ethylene and an alpha olefin comonomer, the copolymer having a density of 0.945 g/cc to 0.960 g/cc, (ii) an ethylene-based polymer, and (iii) polyethylene glycol. The combination of (i) and (ii) has a High Mw Comonomer Content of 3.2 wt % or greater based on a total weight of the combined (i) and (ii) over the weight average molecular weight range of 10g/mol to 10g/mol as measured by GPC, wherein 15 wt % or greater of the total weight of the polymeric composition is the combined (i) and (ii) having a molecular weight in the range of 10g/mol to 10g/mol as measured by GPC, wherein the polymeric composition has a Relevant Comonomer Content of 0.6 wt % or greater and wherein the polymeric composition has a density of 0.945 g/cc or greater as measured according to ASTM D792.

Enhanced aging and reduced shrinkback polymeric composition

A polyolefin formulation comprising constituents (A) to (E) in the following amounts: from 15.0 to 55.0 weight percent (wt %) of (A) a polypropylene homopolymer; from 77.9 to 30.0 wt % of (B) a poly(ethylene-co-1-alkene) copolymer; from 3.0 to 6.5 wt % of (C) an ethylene/propylene diblock copolymer; from 4.0 to 8.0 wt % of (D) a saturated-and-aromatic (C-C)hydrocarbon; and from 0.1 to 1.5 wt % of (E) an antioxidant; wherein the wt % of (B) divided by the wt % (A) is a mass ratio of from 5.0:1.0 to 0.50:1.0; and wherein the amounts of constituents (A), (B), and (C) total from 88.0 to 95.9 wt % of the polyolefin formulation; and wherein the amounts of constituents (A) to (E) total from 92.1 to 100.0 wt % of the polyolefin formulation.

Heat aging-resistant and flexible polyolefin formulation

A composition comprising the following components: A) a first ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer with a melt index I2A; B) a second ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer with a melt index I2B; and wherein the difference in melt index (I2): (I2A−I2B)≥400, and wherein I2B≤100 g/10 min; C) a filler, and wherein the filler is present in an amount ≥50 wt %, based on the weight of the composition; D) a tackifier; and wherein the melt viscosity, at 165 C, of the composition, excluding the filler (component C), is ≤30,000 cP.

Olefin-based polymer compositions for flooring applications

Embodiments are directed to polymer blends and molded articles including polymer blends. Embodiments of the polymer blend may include 1 to 40 wt. % of a crystalline block composite and from 60 wt. % to 99 wt. % of an ionomer formed from a partially neutralized precursor acid copolymer. The crystalline block composite may include an EP-iPP diblock polymer, an isotactic polypropylene homopolymer, and a copolymer of ethylene and propylene. The crystalline block composite may include greater than 50 wt. % of the isotactic polypropylene homopolymer. The precursor acid copolymer may include copolymerized units of ethylene and 5 wt. % to 30 wt. %, based on the total weight of the precursor acid copolymer, of copolymerized units of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms. About 25% to about 65% of the acid groups derived from the α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid of the precursor acid copolymer may be neutralized.

Polymer blends having improved thermal properties

The present disclosure provides a fabric laminate. In an embodiment, the fabric laminate includes a fabric sheet, a coating layer, and a tie layer. The fabric sheet is composed of propylene-based polymer fibers. The coating layer is composed of one or more ethylene-based polymers. The tie layer is located between the fabric sheet and the coating layer. The tie layer is composed of at least 50 wt % of a crystalline block composite (CBC) and an optional blend component. The CBC includes (i) an isotactic crystalline propylene homopolymer (iPP); (ii) an ethylene/propylene copolymer; and (iii) a diblock with the formula (EP)-(iPP). The CBC has a block composite index (CBCI) from 0.1 to 1.0. The fabric laminate has a peel force from 20 N/15 mm to 40 N/15 mm.

Process to form a tile using low temperature heat lamination

A composition comprising the following components: A) an olefin multi-block copolymer that has a I2 &#x2264;30 g/10 min; B) a propylene-based composition comprising the following: a) a propylene-based polymer; b) a propylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer, a propylene/ethylene interpolymer, or an ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer; wherein the propylene-based composition has a Tm(highest melting point) &#x2265;130&#xb0; C.

Propylene-based polymer compositions with excellent flexibility and hot air weldability

The present invention provides resins for use as a sealant layer in a multilayer film, multilayer films, and packages formed from such films. In one aspect, a resin for use as a sealant layer in a multilayer film comprises (a) 10 to 30 weight percent low density polyethylene based on the total weight of the resin; (b) 60 weight percent or more of a random copolymer polypropylene based on the total weight of the resin; and (c) 5 to 25 weight percent of a crystalline block copolymer composite (CBC) comprising: i) a crystalline ethylene based polymer (CEP) comprising at least 90 mol % polymerized ethylene; ii) an alpha-olefin-based crystalline polymer (CAOP); and iii) a block copolymer comprising (1) a crystalline ethylene block (CEB) comprising at least 90 mol % polymerized ethylene and (2) a crystalline alpha-olefin block (CAOB).

Resins, multilayer films and packages comprising the same

Impact modified compositions for low temperature use containers

Thermoplastic polyolefin blends having improved low temperature impact performance

Embodiments relate to compositions comprising: (a) from 60 wt % to 90 wt % of a propylene polymer base that has a melt flow rate from 2 g/10 min to 100 g/10 min according to ASTM D1238 (230&#xb0; C./2.16 kg); (b) from 2 wt % to 39.5 wt % of an olefin block copolymer; and (c) from 0.5 wt % to 20 wt % of a composite component comprising a crystalline block composite or a block composite. In certain embodiments, the composition may further comprise: (d) from 1 wt % to 30 wt % a polyolefin copolymer, the polyolefin copolymer being derived from ethylene and at least one of a C3 to C10 alpha-olefin, having a melt index from 100 g/10 min to 2000 g/10 min according to ASTM D1238 (190&#xb0; C./2.16 kg), and having a density from 0.860 g/cc to 0.900 g/cc. In further embodiments, the composition may further comprise: (e) from 0.1 wt % to 5 wt % of an antioxidant.

Disclosed are multilayer film structures including a layer (B) that includes a crystalline block copolymer composite (CBC) or a specified block copolymer composite (BC), including i) an ethylene polymer (EP) including at least 80 mol % polymerized ethylene; ii) an alpha-olefin-based crystalline polymer (CAOP) and iii) a block copolymer including (a) an ethylene polymer block including at least 80 mol % polymerized ethylene and (b) a crystalline alpha-olefin block (CAOB); and a layer C that includes a polyolefin having at least one melting peak greater than 125 C, the top facial surface of layer C in adhering contact with the bottom facial surface of layer B. Such multilayer film structure preferably includes (A) a seal layer A having a bottom facial surface in adhering contact with the top facial surface of layer B. Such films are suited for use in electronic device (ED) modules including an electronic device such as a PV cell.
