A filter for a water-purification device includes a filter housing having a water inlet and a water outlet defined therein, and a filter member disposed in the filter housing to purify water introduced through the inlet and supply the purified water to the outlet. The filter member includes a carbon block produced by mixing 40 to 50% by weight of titanium oxide, 30 to 40% by weight of activated carbon, and 18 to 23% by weight of binder with each other.

A method is described for treating activated carbon configured to be included in a carbon block of a filter for a water purifier. The method includes: inserting the activated carbon into a chamber; injecting ozone generated from an ozone generator into the chamber, and applying pressure to the chamber; and modifying a surface of the activated carbon inserted into the chamber based on applying the pressure to the chamber that holds the ozone and the activated carbon.

The filter module includes a carbon block that includes a mixture of: activated carbon having a weight corresponding to 40 to 50% of a weight of the mixture, a binder having a weight corresponding to 5 to 15% of the weight of the mixture, iron hydroxide having a weight corresponding to 10 to 20% of the weight of the mixture, and titanium oxide having a weight corresponding to 30 to 40% of the weight of the mixture.

Filter for water purifier and water purifier including the same

A filter system comprises a hollow fiber membrane filter having pores; and an electrostatic adsorption filter partially or wholly having positive charges to be ion adsorbed with nanoparticles of negative charges by an electrostatic attraction, the nanoparticles which exist in the water, and the electrostatic adsorption filter configured to remove in advance the nanoparticles from the water to be supplied to the hollow fiber membrane filter, to prevent a water passing amount of the hollow fiber membrane filter from being rapidly reduced. According to the present invention, the viruses existing in raw water may be removed in accordance with a size exclusion mechanism of the hollow fiber membrane filter, and the nanoparticles, which cause the reduction of the water passing amount of the hollow fiber membrane filter, may be removed using the electrostatic adsorption filter.
