In a conventional headphone set, there is a possibility that a headband cannot be put in a suitable position when an ear pad is snugly mounted on an ear. A headphone set of this disclosure includes speaker units which output a sound. The headphone set also includes: speaker housings which are brought into contact with a user; connecting portions which are connected to the speaker housings in a state where the speaker housings are movable in a forward and rearward direction of the user; and a headband which has connecting portions on end portions thereof and is mounted on a head of the user in directions toward a crown of the head of the user. Due to such a constitution, the headphone set can be used in a more stable manner.

An illumination apparatus includes a light source (), a first integrator () into which light from the light source () enters, and a second integrator () into which light exiting from the first integrator () enters. Accordingly, the aperture shape of the first integrator () can be optimally designed, so that the light utilization efficiency can be increased. In a light source emitting single-color light represented by a solid light source such as a light emitting diode, a light output is increased while a color reproducibility is maintained. A red, a green, and a blue light emitting diode are controlled so that a first light emitting step of making the red light emitting diode emit light in a first light emission period, a second light emitting step of making the green light emitting diode emit light in a second light emission period, a third light emitting step of making the blue light emitting diode emit light in a third light emission period, and a fourth light emitting step of making the red light emitting diode, the green light emitting diode and the blue light emitting diode emit light at the same time in a fourth light emission period are carried out for display of one image.

A light source apparatus includes a lamp, an ellipsoidal mirror collecting a part of light radiated from a light transmission plane of the lamp, and a spherical mirror collecting another part of the light radiated from a light transmission plane not collected by the ellipsoidal mirror and reflecting it on the ellipsoidal mirror, in which a reflection plane of the ellipsoidal mirror and the reflection plane of the spherical mirror are in a form of non-rotation symmetry to an optical axis connecting a focal position Fcorresponding to a source of luminescence of the lamp to a focal position Fof the light collected by the ellipsoidal mirror respectively. The distance between the reflection plane of the spherical mirror and the source of luminescence of the lamp is shorter than the distance between the source of luminescence and the focus of the light collected by the ellipsoidal mirror, and a part of the reflection plane of the ellipsoidal mirror is formed around the optical axis.

In recent years, much attention has been paid to a projection type display apparatus using a plurality of light sources, as projection type video equipment capable of large screen display. However, in an optical system using a plurality of light sources, devices are designed so that uniform lighting can be provided assuming only the use of all the light sources. Thus, the uniformity of brightness within a display screen may be degraded if not all of the plurality of light sources are used. A light apparatus includes a plurality of lamp unit sections, a synthetic mirror section that reflects and synthesizes lights generated by all or some of the plurality of lamp unit sections and, and a synthetic mirror section adjusting mechanism that holds the synthetic mirror section so that its position can be changed so as to adjust the reflecting optical paths of the reflected lights.

All or a part of plural images formed by a lens separate from the predetermined lens of the first lens array are practically arranged among the formed images of the lamps. And the second lens array is formed such that the images formed on the second lens array are irradiated on a light-receiving surface in a predetermined relation.
