The present invention relates to an apparatus for substantially horizontally oscillating one or more multi-well plates containing a liquid, a solid, or a mixture thereof that operates to thoroughly disrupt solid substances in multi-well plates. The apparatus provides oscillation of plates in a horizontal direction through the use of springs and rotating mechanical components. The apparatus includes a circular rotating ring having a toothed circumference that rotates horizontally, plate holder, and a spring attached to the housing and in constant contact with the plate holder. The apparatus can be used in a cold room or placed in a refrigerator to keep the substances at low temperature and to eliminate noise when the disruptor operates.

Apparatus for disruption of cell and tissue samples in multi-well plates

An apparatus for substantially horizontally oscillating one or more vessels containing a liquid, a solid, or a mixture thereof that operates to thoroughly disrupt and mix solid and liquid substances in vessels, like test tubes. The apparatus provides superior mixing through oscillation of the vessels both horizontal and vertical directions through the use of one or more springs and rotating mechanical components. The apparatus includes a circular rotating ring having a toothed circumference that rotates horizontally, at least one vessel support having a compartment configured to hold the one or more vessel vessels and a spring attached to the housing and in constant contact with each of the one or more vessel supports.

The housing integrates a material storage container with a dispenser, comprising: special compartments and sound damper, made of elastic porous material that makes use of the device quiet; a one touch assembly and disassembly of an inner space of the device where the dispenser is located; structural elements for dispensing a predetermined volume of the material or its fraction, including a way to reduce the length of the working stroke of the dispensing mechanism; wall extensions to prevent bridges of sticky particles forming; separating walls to allow delivery a more than one material stored in one device including more than one material transporting mechanisms inside the dispenser; and structural elements providing exact measuring, and sifting or pouting of the materials.

Device and industrial package for storing, measuring and dispensing powder and granular substances

A method of mixing together liquids or liquid/solid combinations, and mixing apparatus/universal combine utilizing a vertical spinning container or vessel having a rib, or a cross rib in its bottom wall. The container is spun about a vertical axis with no wobbling component to the motion. Meshed elements are used for high shear mixing. Start/stop routines, and variable acceleration/speed values are used, to facilitate complete mixing. Use of 'impeller' blade stirrers is completely eliminated.

Method and an apparatus/universal combine for agitation of liquids

A centrifuge having two arcuate slots to receive resilient, bendable mounting flanges that each carry a plurality of test tubes in side by side relation. The resilience of the mounting flanges enables them to flex and assume either the curvature of the slot, or a linear configuration enabling the flanges to be suspended in a flat condition, such as on a test rack. The arrays of test tubes is attached to the flanges via living hinges that enable the flexing to occur. The advantages are that simplified identification of individual test tubes, as well as reduced likelihood of intermixing of spillage are realized.

In a preferred embodiment, a supporting system for suspended wind turbines placed in mountainous areas and cliff seashores. The system includes: substantially vertical support the turbine is attached to and a turbine coupled using a mechanism allowing a full-circle rotation of the turbine around the support. A carrying cable stretched over the ground carries downward vertical loads applied to the system, and a number of guy ropes, placed angularly to each other, carry applied wind loads. In the second and the third versions of the invention it is disclosed modifications of the main structural system for supporting vertical-axis wind turbines and the turbines placed in cliff seashore.

When the rotor is in its lower position the tubes engage the teeth and receive strikes which induce vigorous motion and effective mixing of media inside the tube. A hand-operated device for measuring, dispensing and storing of powder, granular and grain materials, having filling and discharging/storing positions, comprising: a container wherein the material is stored and a measuring and dispensing unit attached to the container. In the preferred embodiment the unit includes: a housing having interconnected material receiving and material discharging openings; a slide moveable back and forth inside the passageway, delivers the material from the receiving opening to the discharging opening, accommodating a predetermined volume of the material dispensed by the device in one stroke; extensions prevent bridging of the dispensed material, a spring, being extended when the slide moves inside the housing due to an outside force applied to the slide and returning the slide into its original position after the outside force is released; a retaining apparatus holding the slide inside the housing in its discharging position when the device is not in use, a stopping apparatus fixing filling position of the slide; and apparatus providing airtight closing of the measuring and dispensing unit of possible penetration of air from the container to outside atmosphere or back. In the first embodiment the device includes extensions on the slide directed towards the container to break-up clogged material within container during movement of the slide. In the second embodiment the transporting mechanism includes also a screening mechanism capable to close or open the compartment in the slide wherein the dispensed material is received.

Device for mixing, resuspending, homogenizing and aeration of substances in test tubes

A method for erection by launching of prefabricated modular deck of viaducts, motorway flyovers and the like and a mechanism for performing the method. The mechanism is a mobile bridge including towers and a replaceable platform supported by the towers. Each tower consists of a set of telescopic sections moveable up and down, placed on a track. Carrying capacity and structure of the bridge provide supporting and lowering the deck module and its carrier. The platform which length is less than a distance between the viaduct piers has expandable ends. To increase stability of the bridge during the erection process the platform can be temporarily affixed to the viaduct. The method is performed as a set of steps. Steps 1 and 2--installing the bridge between viaduct piers to provide a continuous way from an existing part of the viaduct to the bridge. Steps 3 and 4--delivering the module to the place of erection using an existing part of the viaduct as a road. Pulling the module carrier over the bridge and positioning the module carrier such that the module is located directly above places on the piers where it should be set. Step 5--setting the module on the piers by lowering the platform. Steps 6 and 7--replacing the bridge to the next working position and installing it in steps 1 and 2. Three versions of the invention related to particular applications of the method are developed.

Method and mechanism for erection of prefabricated modular deck of

A mixer is intended for mixing substances, resuspending pellets and disintegrating living cells, such as yeast cells. The mixer includes a tube holder and an electric motor with striking attachment(s). The main part of the holder is rigid rings coaxial with and located subsequently along the motor shaft. Each ring has a number of holes the tubes sit in. Diameters of the holes are larger then diameters of the tubes, so that there are gaps between the tubes and the rigid rings. The attachment(s) of the motor is disks with blades, affixed to the motor shaft. When the motor shaft rotates the blades strike against the tubes. Struck tubes are repelled by the rigid ring (due to a gap between the tubes and rings), get a new strike from the blades and so on. As a result, the substance inside the tube receives a turbulent motion which provides mixing, resuspending and disintegrating effects.

Mixer having means for periodically mechanically striking

An auxiliary holder of tubes intended for disintegration of living cells, such as yeast cells, in the presence of glass beads, as well as for mixing substances and pellet resuspension. The holder is installed on a vibrator. Due to specially-made gaps between the tubes and the main parts of the holder the processed cells and substances are subjected to a complex impact of vibration created by the vibrator and shocks created by the holder. The holder strongly enhances the effectiveness of the vibrator. During the disintegrating process the presence of a researcher is not required.
