Described are fabric care pellets comprising an amphiphilic polymer, preferably an ethylene acrylic acid copolymer, a surfactant, and a filler, wherein the pellet contains 30 wt % to 90 wt % amphiphilic polymer, preferably ethylene acrylic acid copolymer, and methods of making and using the same.

A halogen-free, flame retardant composition comprises: A. A polymer blend comprising: 1. Polypropylene, and 2. Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) other than the polypropylene of (A)(1), and B. An intumescent flame retardant comprising at least one of: 1. A compound of Formula 1 where M is at least one of melamine, morpholine, piperazine, piperidine, alkyl hydroxyl and a triazine polymer of Formula 2 where D is a heterocyclic or polyamine moiety, and m and n are independently integers the sum (m+n) of which is less than 1000, and 2. A piperazine phosphate. 

Halogen-free, flame retardant composition for wire and cable applications

Disclosed is a halogen-free, flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition based on polypropylene and one or more thermoplastic elastomers with an organic nitrogen- and/or phosphorus-based intumescent flame retardant comprising a piperazine component. The composition is processed easily to make a wire and cable sheath exhibiting a balance of high flame retardancy, good flexibility, high wet electrical resistance and excellent heat deformation properties, and which passes the VW-I flame retardancy test, the UL1581 heat deformation test at 150&#xb0; C. and the wet electrical resistance test, and also exhibits good tensile and flexibility properties. Also disclosed is a wire and cable sheath made from the composition.

Halogen-free flame retardant thermoplastic compositions for wire and cable applications

Halogen-free TPU compositions comprise in weight percent based on the weight of the composition: A. 1 to 99% thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), B. 1 to 50% tris(2-butoxyethyl)phosphate (TBEP), C. 1 to 70% metal hydrate, and D. 1 to 70% organic phosphate ester other than tris(2-butoxyethyl)phosphate. These compositions exhibit better smoke suppression as compared with conventional organic phosphate flame retardant TPU compositions such as those based on resorcinol bis(diphenyl phosphate) (RDP) and bisphenol-A bis(diphenyl phosphate) (BPADP) in the absence of TBEP.

Halogen-free, flame-retardant thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPE-E) compositions that include at least one thermoplastic polyester elastomer, at least one low-melting, phosphorus-based flame retardant having a melting temperature no higher than 150&#xb0; C., and a blend of solid intumescent flame retardants comprising a phosphorus-based, organic salt flame retardant and a nitrogen-based organic flame retardant are provided. The presence of the low-melting, phosphorus-based flame retardant renders the compositions more resistant to scratch-whitening.
