The present invention is to provide a tissue slice selection method and an embedded block-preparing cassette which are capable of suppressing occurrence of errors in inspection results. The present invention makes it possible to suppress the occurrence of errors in inspection results by including: an embedded block-preparing process of preparing an embedded block by embedding both a biological tissue fragment and a standard substance in the same embedding agent; an embedded tissue slice preparing step of slicing the embedded block to prepare a sheet-like embedded tissue slice having a tissue slice and standard substance slices appearing on a surface thereof; and a tissue slice selecting step of selecting the tissue slice to be inspected, based on a light signal from the standard substance slice.

A substrate having a pattern of two or more materials exhibiting different grafting efficiencies for a temperature-responsive polymer that varies its interaction with water in a temperature range of 0 to 80&#xb0; C. by electron beam irradiation under the same conditions is grafted with the temperature-responsive polymer by simultaneously irradiating the surfaces of the materials with electron beams to obtain a temperature-responsive cell culture substrate. According to this method, a temperature-responsive cell culture substrate having a surface () that allows cells to adhere thereto and to grow thereon during cell culturing and that allows the adhering and grown cells to be detached therefrom by changing the culturing temperature and a surface () that does not allow the cells to adhere thereto at all can be obtained by a simple process.

The present invention relates to an enzyme-antibody complex where one or more molecule(s) of enzyme into which a maleimide group or a thiol group is introduced is/are covalently conjugated to a carrier (polylysine, aminodextyan and so forth) in which a thiol group when a maleimide group is introduced into the enzyme or to a maleimide group when a thiol group is introduced into the enzyme via them, and a maleimide group is introduced into at least one amino group remaining in the above complex and is covalently conjugated to a maleimide group of the above complex via a thiol group obtained by reduction of antibody fragment or antibody. The resulting complex is useful as an enzyme-labeled antibody particularly in immunohistochemistry and in enzyme immunoassay and makes an immunoassay with high sensitivity possible.
