It is intended to quantitatively evaluate deterioration in brain function associated with a disease such as dementia, with a high degree of accuracy by a simplified method using signals acquired from a few sensors arranged on the scalp. The present invention relates to a brain activity measurement device comprising: a signal acquisition part configured to acquire a signal from a brain of the subject, using three sensors attached to different locations on the surface of the head of a subject; a data extraction part configured to extract, from each of the three signals acquired from respective ones of the sensors, a deep-brain potential signal having a specific frequency band arising from an activity of a deep brain region, and acquire data from the extracted deep-brain potential signal with a sampling period; a correlation value calculation part configured to calculate a correlation value indicative of a correlative relationship among the deep-brain potential signals acquired from each respective sensors, based on a phase relationship among three pieces of time-series data each extracted from the respective sensors by the data extraction part; and an index value calculation part configured to analyze the deep-brain potential signals from the deep brain region, based on the calculated correlation value, to calculate an index value for determining a brain function.

A device for detecting a movement of an object includes: an image shooting unit to generate a first image and a second image by continuous shooting; a detection unit to detect a movement region based on a difference between the first and second images; an edge detection unit to detect an edge region in the first image; a deletion unit to delete the edge region from the movement region; and a decision unit to determine a degree of object movement in accordance with the movement region in which a part of the movement region being deleted by the deletion unit.

When different images are combined, the corresponding parts are to be aligned accurately. To thus combine images, the feature point of each pixel is calculated from each original image using an operator (filter). The pixels are divided into blocks that the resolution matches that of the reduced image of each original image, and an expectation value map for registering the expectation value of the feature point of each block is drawn. Feature points are expected from the expectation values which the expectation value map holds, and reduced images are superposed one on the other. The feature points of the original images corresponding to the feature points between which the correspondence is derived from the reduced images are extracted, and the original images are superposed one on the other using the extracted feature points.

In a device for combining a plurality of images having a same photograph range, a position shift between the images having the same photograph range is detected, and the position shift of the images is corrected, and after the position shift is corrected, similarity of the respective portions between the images is evaluated, and the image combining method is changed according to the similarity evaluation. Therefore it is possible to create an image having no position shift due to the shaking of a camera and object blurring due to the movement of the object. Moreover, whether the images are combined or not is determined according to the similarity, hence the processing load is reduced and an image having no object blurring can be created.
