A robotic system, a manipulator, and a method for cooling actuators are defined. The robotic system can include an actuator of a manipulator, an end effector (e.g., a suction end effector) operably coupled to the actuator, a supply line configured to supply air to the end effector, and a cooling sleeve coupled to the actuator. The end effector can be actuated by the air. The cooling sleeve can include (i) a heat exchange surface (e.g., made of copper) in contact with the actuator, (ii) an inlet, and (iii) an outlet. The cooling sleeve can be configured to receive the air from the supply line via the inlet, to pass the air over the heat exchange surface, and direct the air out of the cooling sleeve via the outlet.

Active cooling system and method for robot manipulators

Described herein is a computer-implemented method for generating a task-specific simulated robotic manipulator. A computing device receives, via a robotic design user interface, at least one of task information or constraint information. The computing device selects a set of components for a simulated robotic manipulator from a plurality of components in accordance with at least one of the task information or the constraint information. The computing device generates geometric, kinematic, and/or dynamic information corresponding to the set of components. The geometric, kinematic, and/or dynamic information identifies, for individual components of the set of components, one or more properties. The computing device generates a simulated representation of the simulated robotic manipulator based at least in part on set of components and the geometric, kinematic, and/or dynamic information. The computing device provides, for presentation via a display portion of the robotic design user interface, the simulated representation of the simulated robotic manipulator.

Task-specific simulated robotic manipulators

Modular components may be used to build a robotic manipulator. A subset of the modular components can be selected to build the robotic manipulator based on a schematic. The subset of modular components can be assembled in different combinations to build the robotic manipulator. Using one of the combinations of the subset of modular components, the robotic manipulator can be built.

Modular robotic linkages
