The relay UE receives, from an originating device, a data packet for relay to a recipient device, determines that the relay of the data packet to the recipient device has failed and sends, to the originating device, a transmission including the data packet, wherein the transmission comprises an indication that the data packet is being returned to the originating device.

A wireless user equipment (UE) device may transmit a random access preamble to a base station, using a physical resource on an uplink signal. Each of the retransmission may include a corresponding transmission number. As an alternative, each of the retransmissions may be at least partially scrambled using a corresponding Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI). As another alternative, a window for monitoring and RNTI calculation may be extended to include the one or more retransmissions. The successive retransmissions may include the same set of UE-specific payloads, or, a decreasing set of payloads over time as UE devices acknowledge successful receipt of their respective payloads.

The wireless device may determine a quasi-co-located assumption for aperiodic channel state information reference signals for the downlink control information. Signals received according to the quasi-co-located assumption for aperiodic channel state information reference signals may be buffered by the wireless device if a scheduling offset for the downlink control information is below a scheduling offset threshold.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to discontinuous reception (DRX) transmission. Embodiments of the present disclosure propose a solution for DRX configurations for point-to-point (PTP) and/or point-to-multipoint (PTM) transmissions. In this solution, a user equipment (UE) maintains separate DRX configurations for PTP transmissions and PTM transmissions. During active time for the PTP transmissions, the UE monitors physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) with a UE specific identifier. The UE monitors PDCCH with a PTM transmission specific identifier during active time for the PTM transmissions. In this way, it can match the MBS service quality mechanism. Moreover, it also saves power at the UE.

Discontinuous reception transmission

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device and a cellular base station to support common analog beam steering for band groups. The wireless device may provide an indication of analog beam steering capability of the wireless device to the cellular base station. For example, the wireless device may support a limited number of analog beams for each of one or more band groups. The cellular base station may select beam configuration information for the wireless device based at least in part on the indication of analog beam steering capability of the wireless device. This may include selecting a common beam for multiple component carriers for the wireless device based on the wireless device's analog beam steering capability. The cellular base station may provide the beam configuration information to the wireless device.

To accommodate a mix of high frequency carriers and lower frequency carriers, a protocol stack may include a radio link control (RLC) entity that allows configuration of status reporting control parameters on per carrier, or per subcarrier spacing. (High frequency carriers and lower frequency carriers may be distinguished based on a frequency threshold.) Alternatively, the UE may indicate that it can support a percentage of a maximum buffer size. The network may configure the UE and/or control scheduling so that the UE's buffer occupancy does not exceed the percentage.

Aspects are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for secondary cell group (SCG) addition. A wireless device may establish communication with a first base station that is comprised in a master cell group (MCG) and a second base station that is comprised in the SCG. The wireless device may maintain timing advance (TA) parameters for performing uplink communication with the second base station. The wireless device may perform a plurality of signal quality measurements after receiving an indication to deactivate the SCG. The wireless device may determine whether to reuse the TA parameters for communicating with the second base station after receiving an indication. The determination may be based on comparing one or more signal quality measurements of the second base station to one or more signal quality thresholds.
