A base station antenna includes first and second arrays that include respective pluralities of first and second radiating elements arranged along the longitudinal direction of the base station antenna, the second array transversely adjacent the first array. A longitudinal position of each second radiating element is staggered from that of the corresponding first radiating element. The first array comprises first and second sub-arrays, each of which comprises one or a plurality of adjacent first radiating elements. A phase center of the combination of the first and second subarrays is basically aligned with a sub-phase center of the second array.

Base station antennas having staggered linear arrays with improved phase center alignment between adjacent arrays

Radiating elements include a first and second dipole arms that extend along a first axis and that are configured to transmit RF signals in a first frequency band. The first dipole arm is configured to be more transparent to RF signals in a second frequency band than it is to RF signals in a third frequency band, and the second dipole arm is configured to be more transparent to RF signals in the third frequency band than it is to RF signals in the second frequency band. Multi-band base station antennas having broadband decoupling radiating elements and related radiating elements

Radiating elements include a first dipole radiator that extends along a first axis, the first dipole radiator including a first pair of dipole arms that are configured to resonate at a first frequency and a second pair of dipole arms that are configured to resonate at a second frequency that is different than the first frequency. Each dipole arm in the first pair of dipole arms comprises a plurality of widened sections that are connected by intervening narrowed sections.

Antennas including multi-resonance cross-dipole radiating elements and related radiating elements

A base station antenna comprises a plurality of columns of first radiating elements configured for operating in a first operational frequency band, each column of first radiating elements comprising a plurality of first radiating elements arranged in a longitudinal direction and an isolation wall positioned between adjacent columns of first radiating elements and extending in the longitudinal direction. The isolation wall comprises a frequency selective surface configured such that electromagnetic waves within the first operational frequency band are substantially blocked by the isolation wall.

Base station antennas include a first array of radiating elements that is coupled to a first RF port through a first feed network, a second array of radiating elements that is coupled to a second RF port through a second feed network, and first and second circuit elements. The first circuit element has a first port coupled to the first feed network, a second port coupled to a first port of the second circuit element and a third port coupled to a first radiating element of the first array of radiating elements. The second circuit element has a second port coupled to a first radiating element of the second array of radiating elements and a third port coupled to the second feed network.

Base station antennas having arrays with frequency selective shared radiating elements

A dipole antenna includes a planar reflector and a radiating element. The radiating element includes first and second pairs of dipoles on a surface of the planar reflector. The first and second pairs of dipoles respectively include arm segments arranged around a central region in a box dipole arrangement. The arm segments may be printed circuit board portions having respective metal segments and respective inductor-capacitor circuits thereon. The inductor-capacitor circuits define a filter aligned to a frequency range higher than an operating frequency range of the first and second pairs of dipoles.

Cloaking antenna elements and related multi-band antennas

A radiating element for a base station antenna includes a first dipole radiator that has a first dipole arm that has a front surface and first and second extensions that project rearwardly from respective side edges of the front surface of the first dipole arm; a second dipole radiator that has a second dipole arm that has a front surface and first and second extensions that project rearwardly from respective side edges of the front surface of the second dipole arm; and a parasitic element having a first conductive segment that is configured to capacitively couple to the first extension of the first dipole arm, a second conductive segment that is configured to capacitively couple to the second extension of the second dipole arm, and a third conductive segment that electrically connects the first conductive segment to the second conductive segment.

Wideband radiating elements including parasitic elements and related base station antennas

Base station antennas include a reflector, a first array of cross-polarized radiating elements that are mounted to extend forwardly from the reflector, and a parasitic assembly. The parasitic assembly includes a base that is mounted on the reflector, a horizontal component shaping element, and a forwardly projecting member that projects forwardly from the base that is coupled between the base and the horizontal component shaping element. The horizontal component shaping element may extend substantially parallel to a plane defined by the reflector and may include a proximate side that is directly connected to the forwardly projecting member and a distal side that is opposite the proximate side. The distal side of is only electrically connected to the reflector through the proximate side.

Base station antennas having parasitic assemblies for improving cross-polarization discrimination performance

An energy absorbing circuit includes a power divider that is configured to divide an incoming RF signal into a plurality of RF component signals; a plurality of transmission lines that are connected with the power divider, each of the transmission lines configured to transmit a respective RF component signal of the plurality of RF component signals; and a plurality of matching elements, each matching element being terminated to a respective one of the transmission lines.
