An apparatus to estimate a frequency offset in wireless networks is provided. The apparatus comprises: radio frequency (RF) circuitry to down-convert a signal from a base station to generate in-phase and quadrature (IQ) components, wherein the signal includes one or more repeated bursts; and a frequency offset estimator operatively coupled to the RF circuitry, the frequency offset estimator to estimate a frequency offset based on the IQ components and an iterative calculation of phase differences between different sets of bursts of the one or more repeated bursts.

The receiving device comprises a synchronization information processing apparatus configured to combine synchronization information of a plurality of frequency channels based on time and frequency.

An automatic frequency control device, a method for automatic frequency control, a receiver, a mobile station and a non-transitory computer-readable digital storage medium are provided. The automatic frequency control device may include a quality calculation unit to calculate quality of a received signal, a state machine controller to generate a control signal based on the calculated quality of the received signal, and a filter to filter an estimated frequency offset of the received signal based on the control signal.

Automatic frequency control

A device and method for estimating a frequency offset of a received signal is provided. The device comprises: a plurality of phase estimation units, each of the plurality of phase estimation units adapted for receiving one of a plurality of data parts of the received signal and estimating a phase caused by the frequency offset from the received data part, wherein the plurality of data parts comprises payload data and known symbols in the received signal. A method for estimating the frequency offset is also provided; and a frequency offset estimation unit for estimating the frequency offset from a plurality of phases estimated by the plurality of phase estimation units.
