The present invention introduces ionic polymers featuring with a spiro structure, which enhances the solubility and gas permeability of the ionic polymer while maintaining excellent conductivity, mechanical properties, and dimensional stability. This is achieved by incorporating a spiro fragment with a large free volume into the polymer backbone. As a result, the gas permeability of the catalyst layer prepared from this ionic polymer is improved, making it suitable as a catalyst binder for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) or anion exchange membrane fuel cells (AEMFCs). Furthermore, the electrochemical performance of the fuel cell is enhanced. Additionally, the proton exchange membrane and anion exchange membrane derived from this ionic polymer containing a spiro structure effectively improve the conductivity of both types of membranes by increasing the space volume due to the presence of the large free volume spiro fragment.

Ionic polymers containing spiro structure and preparation method and application thereof

The present invention discloses a preparation method of highly alkali-stable cationic polymers, including the following steps: placing a polymerization mixture comprising 1-R1-3-piperidinone or its salts or hydrate thereof and arene monomers in a first organic solvent, performing catalytic polycondensation by adding organic strong acids, and obtaining a polymer dispersion with piperidine moieties; slowly dropping the dispersion of the polymer with piperidine moieties into a first precipitant, and obtaining a polymer powder with piperidine moieties after drying; dissolving the polymer powder with piperidine moieties of in a second organic solvent, after adding the quaternization reagent, obtaining a cationic polymer solution. The cationic polymers prepared by the above steps can greatly improve its alkaline stability by adjusting the connection position between the piperidinium group and the arylene units, it can be used in applications such as, for example, anion exchange membranes and catalyst layer binders, featuring with outstanding alkaline stability.

Highly alkali-stable cationic polymers and their preparation methods and applications

Disclosed are a stress-resistant, creep-resistant, high-temperature resistant and high-insulation sheath material for a maglev train cable, and a manufacturing method and use thereof. A multiple chemical crosslinking structure is constructed by blending a functional polyvinylsilicone grease with ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and a ceramicized silicone rubber as a cable material matrix and using electron beam irradiation. In addition, organic/inorganic fillers in the matrix can form physical crosslinking points in the material. A physical-chemical dual crosslinking structure is constructed in the matrix, which can limit the motion and relaxation of molecular chains and improve the interaction between the insulation layer and sheath layer and refractory layers such as fillers and mica tapes to avoid the relative displacement during the laying and operation and improve the high-temperature resistance, creep resistance and stress relaxation resistance of a UHMWPE cable sheath material.
