Methods of operating a first VAE server are disclosed. V2X message information per geographical area is received from a V2X application specific server. Position information is received from a VAE client of a wireless device, wherein the position information indicates a position of the wireless device. Responsive to receiving the position information and responsive to the V2X message information per geographical area, a second VAE server is identified based on the position information. An address for the second VAE server is transmitted to the VAE client of the wireless device. Related VAE servers and V2X wireless devices are also discussed.

Methods of identifying VAE servers and related V2X wireless devices and servers

A V2X UE (e.g., wireless device) that includes a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) application enabler (VAE) client and a V2X application-specific client associated with a V2X application, where the V2X UE is connected with a V2X application server is enabled to receive notifications of conditions occurring in a wireless network that connects them. The V2X application-specific client in the UE performing a registration with the V2X application server for receiving notifications. The registration comprises one or more conditions monitored by a network function (NF) in the wireless network. For example, the condition can be related to QoS provided by the network in a particular geographic area and/or in a particular time window, where the NF can be a network data and analytics function (NWDAF). The VAE client receives from the VAE server the notifications. The VAE client can receive a notification of a particular occurrence of the condition after the NF monitoring detects the occurrence.

Network information delivery towards application at device side

Embodiments include methods performed by a V2X application enabler (VAE) client of a V2X User Equipment (UE) arranged for communication with a VAE server. Such methods include sending, to the VAE server, a registration or de-registration request to register or de-register for receiving intelligent transport system (ITS) messages. The registration or de-registration request includes an identifier of the V2X UE and an identifier of a first type of ITS messages from the VAE server, for which the V2X UE wishes to register or de-register for receiving. Such methods include receiving, from the VAE server a response indicating acknowledgement of the registration or de-registration request. Other embodiments include complementary methods performed by VAE servers, as well as UEs and application servers configured to perform such methods.

Method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium for intelligent transportation system (ITS) message distribution

A method of operating a vehicle to anything, V2X, application enabler, VAE, server is provided according to some embodiments disclosed herein. The method includes receiving a registration request message from a V2X application specific server. The method further includes transmitting a registration response message to the V2X application specific server responsive to receiving the registration request message.

Methods providing V2X application server registration

Embodiments include methods performed by a V2X application enabler (VAE) client, of a V2X User Equipment (UE) arranged for communication with a VAE server. Such methods include sending, to the VAE server, a first request for registration or de-registration to receive intelligent transportation system (ITS) messages associated with at least one of the following: a first V2X service, when an identifier of the first V2X service is included in the first request; and a first geographic area, when an identifier of the first geographic area is included in the first request. Such methods also include receiving, from the VAE server, a first response comprising an acknowledgement of the first request for registration or de-registration. A method performed by a vehicle to everything application enabler (VAE) client of a wireless device for using a service in a wireless communication network for vehicle to anything (V2X) wireless devices. The VAE client receives, from a V2X application specific client, a V2X message of a service with a service ID; and determines a network node for receiving an uplink V2X message based on the service ID. The VAE client further transmits the uplink V2X message to the determined network node with the service ID.

A mobile device () subscribes to receive messages targeted to a first geographical area (-A), e.g., a first tile or area of a grid for geocasting. The mobile device () also subscribes to receive messages targeted to a second geographical area (-B), e.g., a second tile or area of the grid for geocasting. The mobile device () notably does this such that the mobile device () is simultaneously subscribed to receive messages targeted to the first geographical area (-A) and to receive messages targeted to the second geographical area (-B).

Such methods include receiving, from the first address via unicast signaling, a first response including the requested further address information, which facilitates UE discovery of V2X services available via unicast communication between the V2X UE and a radio access network (RAN). Methods, apparatus, and computer-readable media for discovery of application server and/or services for V2X communications

A wireless device () is configured for dual mode V2X communications over multiple short range radio interfaces. The wireless device () is configured to transmit ITS messages over a first short range radio interface configured to operate according to a first communication standard (e.g. PC5 or IEEE 802.11p), and to receive ITS messages over both the first short range radio interface and a second short radio interface configured to operate according to a second communication standard. Implementing the transmitter chain of only one technology, either PC5 or IEEE 802.11p, at each wireless device () reduces complexity and mitigates co-channel and adjacent channel interference that is caused by uncoordinated and concurrent transmissions of different technologies from the same wireless device. Implementing receiver chains for both PC5 and 802.11p allows the wireless device () to receive signals in the ITS frequency band regardless of which technology the transmitting device is using.

Dual mode vehicle to vehicle communications

Embodiments include a method performed by a V2X user equipment (UE) for service discovery from a V2X application server (AS). The method includes sending, to a first address associated with the V2X AS, a first request for further address information associated with the V2X AS. The method also includes receiving, from the V2X AS via unicast signaling, a first response that includes the further address information associated with the V2X AS. Embodiments include a method performed by a V2X user equipment (UE) for service discovery from a V2X application server (AS). Embodiments include methods and/or procedures performed by a V2X application enabler (VAE) client, of a V2X user equipment (UE), in communication with a VAE server. Exemplary embodiments include sending, to the VAE server, a first message comprising an identifier of the V2X UE and at least one of the following: identifiers of one or more first types of intelligent transportation system messages, from the VAE server, to which the V2X UE wishes to register or unregister for receiving; and an identifier of a first geographic area that V2X UE wishes to register or unregister for association with the V2X UE at the VAE server. According to some embodiments of inventive concepts, a method may be provided to operate a UE providing sidelink communications with other wireless devices. The method may include scheduling a first transmission from the UE, wherein the first transmission has a first priority. The method may also include scheduling a second transmission from the UE, wherein the second transmission has a second priority, wherein the first priority is greater than the second priority, and wherein the first and second transmissions are scheduled for transmission during a time interval. The method may further include transmitting the first transmission during the time interval, and responsive to determining a violation of a timing limit corresponding to scheduling the first and second transmissions during the time interval and responsive to the first priority being greater than the second priority, dropping transmitting the second transmission during the time interval.
