A plasma display apparatus is disclosed. The plasma display apparatus a plasma display panel including a front substrate on which a scan electrode and a sustain electrode are positioned parallel to each other, a rear substrate on which an address electrode is positioned to cross the scan electrode and the sustain electrode, and a barrier rib that is positioned between the front substrate and the rear substrate to partition a discharge cell and a driver supplying a sustain signal to the scan electrode and the sustain electrode in a sustain period of at least one of a plurality of subfields of a frame. A sustain signal supplied to the scan electrode overlaps a sustain signal supplied to the sustain electrode in the sustain period. The address electrode is electrically floated in the sustain period.

A plasma display apparatus and a method of driving the same are disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel comprising a first electrode and a second electrode, and a driver. The driver supplies a ramp-up signal in which a voltage gradually rises to the first electrode in a setup period of a reset period, supplies a ramp-down signal in which a voltage gradually falls to the first electrode in a set down period after the setup period, and supplies at least one reset stabilization signal to the first electrode in a period before the ramp-down signal is supplied after the ramp-up signal is supplied.

Plasma display apparatus and method of driving the same

A plasma display apparatus and a driving method of a plasma display panel are provided. This may include a plasma display panel having a plurality of scan electrodes and sustain electrodes, and a plurality of address electrodes formed to intersect with the plurality of scan electrodes and sustain electrodes. A plasma display apparatus may be provided that reduces a noise generating in a waveform applied to a scan electrode or a sustain electrode and that stabilizes address discharge by improving applying time point of a waveform applied in an address period, so that driving stability of a panel may increase. The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus, and more particularly, to a plasma display apparatus and driving method thereof, in which scan electrodes are scanned according to one of a plurality of scan types and a last sustain pulse of sustain pulses applied to scan electrodes or sustain electrodes is controlled. A plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof are disclosed. The plasma display apparatus comprises a plasma display panel in which a plurality of electrodes are formed, an energy storage unit for storing energy applied to the electrodes, and a protector for maintaining a voltage level of the energy stored in the energy storage unit at a predetermined voltage range.
