A two-dimensional exit pupil expansion method for waveguide display based on polarization volume gratings (PVGs) is provided. Based on the polarized diffraction properties of the PVGs as waveguide coupling elements, a light beam from a microimage source system is introduced into and then propagates in a waveguide medium. By a composite PVG structure, a light field of a transmitted image is subjected to two-dimensional exit pupil expansion and emission, and finally incident into human eyes to achieve waveguide augmented reality imaging.

An adaptive adjustment system and method for the brightness of a holographic waveguide display device is provided. The adaptive adjustment system includes five functional modules: a computer control module, a driving and adjustment module, a micro image source display module, an optical waveguide transmission module and an ambient light acquisition module. A video signal is provided by the computer control module and is then transmitted under the control of the driving and adjustment module to illuminate the micro image source display module, and light information of the micro image source display module is finally transmitted to human eyes by means of the optical waveguide transmission module to realize display. The ambient light acquisition module is used for acquiring environmental illuminance information and transmitting the environmental illuminance information to the driving and adjustment module to change the brightness of the micro image source display module.

Adaptive adjustment system and method for brightness of holographic waveguide display device

A visible light band reflection metasurface device and a reflected light wavelength modulation method. The device successively includes, from top to bottom, a metal metasurface layer with periodically arranged antenna units, a modulation layer formed by an electro-optic material, a metal reflection layer and a substrate layer; the antenna unit period is less than the incident wavelength, and the thickness is greater than the skin depth of metal and less than 100 nm; the thickness of the modulation layer is less than the wavelength of the incident light; and the thickness of the metal reflection layer is greater than the skin depth of metal and less than the wavelength of the incident light; and an external voltage source can modulate the color of the reflected light, and can achieve voltage modulation of the color of reflected light in the visible light band.
