Over the past several decades, rapid advances in semiconductors, automation, and control systems have resulted in the adoption of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in an immense variety of environments. In a fault diagnosis method of an embodiment, the fault diagnosis apparatus receives a fault symptom to be diagnosed from a user terminal, diagnoses the fault for the fault symptom to be diagnosed, returns a fault diagnosis result to the user terminal, receives feedback on the fault diagnosis result from the user terminal, and adjusts the diagnosis policy for the fault symptom to be diagnosed according to the fault diagnosis result if the feedback of the user on the fault diagnosis result indicates that the fault has been cleared.

In an example aspect, a distributed control system includes a production network configured to perform automated control operation. The system can further include a screen configured to display a plurality of interfaces that include the plurality of devices represented as consumers and providers. A system and method is provided that facilitates optimizing tool paths based on thermal/structural simulations of a part produced via a 3D-printer. A processor may carry out a first simulation of the part being additively produced according to a first set of tool paths that correspond to instructions usable to drive the 3D-printer to produce the part. The first simulation may include: determining a hexahedral mesh of the part that includes a plurality of hexahedron elements; determining an order of the elements of the mesh to deposit for additively producing the part based on the first set of tool paths; and simulating an incremental deposit of each of the elements of the mesh in the order that the elements are determined to be deposited. For each incremental deposit of an additional respective element, thermal characteristics and structural deformation characteristics of the deposited elements are determined, in which some elements have a change in volume to account for a structural deformation of previously deposited adjacent elements.

System and method for optimizing tool paths based on thermal/structural simulations of a part being produced via a 3D-printer

The present invention related to the technical field of industrial automation, in particular to a method and apparatus for generating a fault diagnosis database of a CNC machine tool, intended to conveniently provide comprehensive fault diagnosis information. The method comprises: setting a fault condition of the CNC machine tool; running a simulation model of the CNC machine tool under each set fault condition to generate fault, and recording a fault phenomenon of the fault; backtracking a possible fault generating each fault phenomenon, to establish an association between the fault phenomenon and a possible fault generating the fault phenomenon; generating a fault diagnosis database of the CNC machine tool according to the association established. Due to the fact that what is being run is a simulation model of the CNC machine tool, various fault conditions can be conveniently set. The fault diagnosis database established by the method has the advantage of comprehensive coverage of fault situations and abundant fault diagnosis information. The result of performing fault diagnosis on the basis of such a fault diagnosis database is more accurate.

Method and apparatus for generating fault diagnosis information base of numerical control machine tool

A three-dimensional model is determined from a two-dimensional sketch. Rather than or in addition to modification of 3D constraints to reduce gaps in the 3D model, 2D constraints are modified. The geometry of the 2D sketch is altered in the view plane (x, y) or 2D input instead of maintaining the geometry of the 2D sketch and only modifying in the view direction (z). Gaps may be reduced through alteration of the 2D geometry.
