A chip holding apparatus includes a holding block disposed above a circuit board that is formed with a plurality of sockets for holding chips respectively. Each of the sockets is formed with a retainer for securely holding the chip. The chip holding apparatus further includes a lift assembly coupled operably to the holding block. The holding block is formed with a plurality of openings. The lift assembly moves the holding block to a lower position, in which, the holding block presses and disengages the retainers from the sockets in order to permit insertion of the plurality of chips into the sockets via the openings in the holding block, and an upper position above the lower position, in which, the retainers retrieve to its normal condition, thereby retaining the chips securely within the sockets, respectively.

A test apparatus includes lower and upper spacer discs for sandwiching and securing a printed circuit board therebetween, lower and upper plates, and a two-step driving mechanism. The lower and upper spacer discs are spaced apart from the lower and upper plates. Activation of the test apparatus in a first step results in relative movement between the spacer discs to sandwich the circuit board therebetween. Activation of the test apparatus in a second step results in relative movement between the lower and upper plates to sandwich the upper and lower spacer discs therebetween.

A key switch-replaceable keyboard mounting arrangement. The arrangement includes a keyboard shell having an array of contacts on its inside. Rows of keys are suspended in the keyboard shell and adapted for triggering the contacts to produce a signal. Resilient locating plates are coupled to the keyboard shell at two sides of each row of keys and moved between a first position to hold down the keys in place for operation, and a second position to disengage the keys for a replacement.

A vertically disposed notebook comprises a case, a monitor parallel slidably coupled to the case being capable of sliding to either face the case for storage or oppose the case for use, and a removable keyboard for being either received into case in a storage position or removed from case in a use position. By utilizing this, the case is not interfered by monitor and keyboard. Also, various advantages are obtained such as smaller use space and the lift of the blocking of the path of heat dissipation.

A battery pack for notebook can raise the notebook above a supporting surface by a support mechanism. The support mechanism is extendably provided at the underside adjacent the hinge position of the housing and display of the notebook. The battery pack is operable to be either in a retracted position in the notebook or in an extended position from the notebook for supporting the notebook so as position the surface of keyboard at a predetermined optimal angle with respect to user.

A charging device for a cellular phone includes a first housing having a first receiving space provided with a plurality of terminals on an inner side wall thereof. One outer side wall of the first housing is connected pivotally to an outer side wall of a second housing. The second housing has a second receiving space in the same direction as the first receiving space. The inner wall of the second receiving space is provided with two conductors. A voltage multiplier circuit and a voltage stabilizing and rectifying circuit are disposed between the first and second housings. In use, a rechargeable battery of the cellular phone is disposed in the first receiving space, whereas conventional batteries are disposed in the second receiving space to permit charging of the rechargeable battery via the circuits. The charging device is convenient to use and does not occupy a lot of space.
