A solar cell device with improved performance and a method of fabricating the same is described. The solar cell includes a back contact layer formed on a substrate, an absorber layer formed on the back contact layer, a buffer layer formed on the absorber layer, and a front contact layer formed by depositing a transparent conductive oxide layer on the buffer layer and annealing the deposited TCO layer.

Thin film solar cell and method of forming same

A method for forming a thin film solar cell that includes one or more moisture barrier layer made of a water-insoluble material for protection against water and oxygen damage to the top electrode layer material is disclosed.

Method for forming solar cells

A method and system provide for depositing a TCO, transparent conductive oxide, film in one chamber of a manufacturing tool then irradiating the TCO film with light energy in another chamber of the same tool. The TCO film is used in a solar cell and formed on a solar cell substrate in some embodiments. The method includes irradiating the TCO film for a time and energy to reduce resistance of the TCO film without reducing transmittance. One or multiple light sources are used in the light irradiation chamber. Light in the infrared range, visible light range and ultraviolet light range are used either individually or in combination.

Method and apparatus for resistivity and transmittance optimization in TCO solar cell films

An light apparatus used in forming a solar cell includes a housing separate from other processing in a deposition processing system, a transport mechanism for carrying a solar cell into the housing after deposition of a front contact layer in the deposition processing system, and one or more light source elements arranged to apply light on the solar cell after deposition of the front contact layer. A method of making a solar cell includes forming a back contact layer on a glass substrate, forming an absorber layer on the back contact layer, forming a buffer layer on the absorber layer, and forming a front contact layer above the buffer layer, the glass substrate, back contact layer, absorber layer, buffer layer, and front contact layer forming a first module. The method includes applying a light source to the first module after forming the front contact layer separate from other processing.

Apparatus and method for producing solar cells using light treatment

A method of fabricating a solar cell includes forming a front contact layer over a substrate, and the front contact layer is optically transparent at specified wavelengths and electrically conductive. A first scribed area is scribed through the front contact layer to expose a portion of the substrate. A buffer layer doped with an n-type dopant is formed over the front contact layer and the first scribed area. An absorber layer doped with a p-type dopant is formed over the buffer layer. A back contact layer that is electrically conductive is formed over the absorber layer.

Superstrate solar cell

A display panel and a manufacture method thereof are provided. The display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a sealant. The first substrate has a top surface which includes a signal transmission module parallel to an edge of the top surface. The sealant is disposed on the top surface and parallel to the signal transmission module, which is disposed between the top surface and sealant. The sealant is made of a photo-curable material and includes an inner isolation wall, which is exposed via the signal transmission module. The second substrate is disposed on the sealant and includes an inner surface. A light-shielding structure is disposed on the inner surface and close to an edge of the inner surface. The sealant at least partially overlaps the light-shielding structure.

Display panel with photo-curable sealant and manufacture method thereof

A semiconductor device includes at least one first gate dielectric layer over a substrate. A first transition-metal oxycarbide (MCO) containing layer is formed over the at least one first gate dielectric layer, wherein the transition-metal (M) has an atomic percentage of about 40 at. % or more. A first gate is formed over the first transition-metal oxycarbide containing layer. At least one first doped region is formed within the substrate and adjacent to a sidewall of the first gate.

Transistors with metal gate and methods for forming the same

MOSFETs having stacked metal gate electrodes and methods of making the same are provided. The MOSFET gate electrode includes a gate metal layer formed atop a high-k gate dielectric layer. The metal gate electrode is formed through a low oxygen content deposition process without charged-ion bombardment to the wafer substrate. Metal gate layer thus formed has low oxygen content and may prevent interfacial oxide layer regrowth. The process of forming the gate metal layer generally avoids plasma damage to the wafer substrate.

MOSFETs having stacked metal gate electrodes and method

A semiconductor device and method for fabricating a semiconductor device for providing improved work function values and thermal stability is disclosed. The semiconductor device comprises a semiconductor substrate; an interfacial dielectric layer over the semiconductor substrate; a high-k gate dielectric layer over the interfacial dielectric layer; and a doped-conducting metal oxide layer over the high-k gate dielectric layer.
