A method for producing a machine direction and cross-machine direction elastic laminate includes the steps of providing a one direction elastic laminate material including at least one elastic layer and one facing layer and having a single direction of elasticity and coursing the one direction elastic laminate material through at least one stretching apparatus, such that the stretching apparatus stretches the laminate material in a direction perpendicular to the single direction of elasticity of the elastic laminate material, thereby producing a material that extends in a direction perpendicular to the direction of elasticity and also extends the elastic performance of the laminate in the single direction of elasticity.

A method of evaluating a product for use on a body used to develop a preferred product configuration using a computer-based virtual product development and testing system. A virtual wearer sub-model is created of the body and a virtual product sub-model is created of a product for use on the body. An environment sub-model is generated so that environmental factors affecting the product or the body are also used in designing or evaluating the product. Instructions defining how the wearer sub-model, the product sub-model and the environment sub-model interact are introduced in an interaction model. The sub-models and the interaction defined by the interaction model are then combined to create a virtual use model simulating the use of the virtual product sub-model by the virtual wearer sub-model. The use model determines the forces, deformations and stresses caused by movement and interaction between the virtual wearer sub-model and the virtual product sub-model using numerical method analysis. The results of the use model are analyzed to evaluate the performance of product features embodied in the virtual product sub-model such as when positioned on a virtual wearer and exposed to typical movements or forces. The analysis evaluates the performance of at least one product feature of the product and/or wearer body.

A dispenser is disclosed which can house a plurality of folded wet wipes, each having a width. The dispenser includes first and second members pivotally connected together to form an enclosed dispenser having a transverse axis. The first and second members are formed from a semi-rigid material. The dispenser has a height of about 2.5 inches or less and has a top wall with an entrance formed therein. The entrance has a surface area of from between about 15 cmto about 95 cm. The folded wet wipes having a normalized separation force between two adjacent sheets of less than about 65 g/cm. The entrance also has a dimension measured along the transverse axis that when divided by the width of one of the folded wet wipes is at least about 0.7.

There is provided a system for dispensing a plurality of perforated wipes having a perforation detach strength characteristic. The system includes a dispenser having a dispensing force characteristic and including a sealable chamber. The chamber is configured to retain the plurality of perforated wipes therein. A dispensing opening is in communication with the chamber. The opening is adapted to dispense wipes from the plurality of perforated wipes through the opening and out of the dispenser. A wiper blade is positioned in the dispenser to engage at least a portion of the wipes as the wipes dispense through the opening. When dispensing, a ratio of the perforation detach strength characteristic to the dispensing force characteristic is greater than 1:1.

There is provided a wet wipes dispensing system. The system includes a plurality of separably joined wet wipes and the plurality of separably joined wet wipes include a lubricant. The system also includes a dispenser including a sealed chamber, the sealed chamber housing the plurality of separably joined wet wipes therein. The dispenser also includes a flexible elastic sealing orifice through which wet wipes from the plurality of separably joined wet wipes can be dispensed from the sealed chamber. At least a portion of the lubricant is automatically transferable to the flexible elastic sealing orifice when wet wipes from the plurality of separably joined wet wipes are dispensed from the sealed chamber through the flexible elastic sealing orifice whereby a drag relationship between the wet wipes and the flexible elastic sealing orifice is reduced by at least about 20%.

The invention relates to a package and method for storing and dispensing wet wipes in a pop-up format. A group of wet wipes are positioned in a container base between the container base and a pop-up style dispensing partition, each wipe in the group of wet wipes having a first visibility index. The container top has a second visibility index and the pop-up style dispensing partition has a third visibility index and the first visibility index is different than the third visibility index such that when the container top is closed the wipe from the group of wet wipes is visibly indicated at the container top as being in-position or not-in-position for pop-up dispensing as soon as the container top is next opened.

A personal care article includes a resiliently stretchable outer cover and a first and second substantially non-stretchable grasping panels attached to the article. The outer cover is resiliently stretchable in at least the cross-direction to conform to the body of a wearer. The absorbent structure is secured to the outer cover by extendible attachment elements.

There is provided a system and apparatus for dispensing wet wipes. The system may include a wiper assembly, which may include a chassis, a wiper blade, and a tensioner. The invention relates to a stack of wipes for use in a reach-in wipes dispenser having a dispensing opening, and related method. The stack includes a plurality of wipes stacked upon each other. Each wipe is separably joined to an adjacent wipe to form a joint therebetween. For at least 50% of the wipes in the stack of wipes, dispensing a top wipe from the stack of wipes causes an adjacent following wipe to at least partially be drawn upwards towards and/or through the dispensing opening, and the top wipe completely separates automatically from the following wipe at the joint before the following wipe completely passes through the dispensing opening, and when the top wipe completely separates automatically from the following wipe the following wipe falls back towards the stack of wipes and is positioned within the dispenser and below the dispensing opening.

There is provided a mounting system for an apparatus for dispensing wet wipes. The system may include a dispenser, a mounting assembly, a backing plate, and arms. The dispenser has the ability to be mounted to a surface by applied pressure or by conventional fastening. The mounting assembly may securely yet removably hold the dispensing apparatus to the surface.
