The method includes receiving a registration request from an application, wherein the registration request is used to indicate a buffer with a specific size. The method includes searching a cache pool in an input/output memory management unit (IOMMU) according to the specific size and determining whether the cache pool has an IOMMU buffer matching the buffer. The method includes returning a first IOMMU buffer to the application in response to the cache pool having the first IOMMU buffer matching the buffer.
