Apparatuses, methods of assembling a resonator, and methods of tuning a resonator are provided. An example apparatus may include at least one resonator comprising a resonator hole defined within the resonator and defining an inner wall of the at least one resonator, a tuning cover comprising at least one hollow rod, and a tuning element comprising a bottom flanged portion. The tuning element may be configured to be inserted into the at least one hollow rod and the bottom flanged portion is configured to cover at least a bottom portion of the hollow rod. The bottom flanged portion of the tuning element is configured to be positioned between the at least one hollow rod and the inner wall of the at least one resonator.

Dielectric tuning element

Apparatuses, methods of assembling a resonator, and methods of tuning a resonator are provided. An example apparatus may include at least one resonator, at least one input tap coupled to the at least one resonator via capacitive coupling, and at least one tuning element that comprises at least one plate of material. At least a portion of the at least one tuning element may be configured to be positioned between the at least one resonator and the at least one input tap. The at least one tuning element may be configured to be positioned between the at least one resonator and the at least one input tap by at least one spring retention element.

An apparatus, e.g. a cavity resonator, includes a floor and a cover. A conductive post is located between the floor and the cover and has a void oriented along a longitudinal axis of the post. A dielectric spacer is located between the cover and the post and a dielectric rod is located within the void. A resilient dielectric is located within the void between the dielectric spacer and the floor.

Sealing portions of an orthomode transducer or another antenna component is accomplished by forming first and second receptacles or channels in one half or portion of the transducer and inserting first and second type of compressible sealing components into the receptacles. Upon attaching additional portions of the transducer the compressible sealing components may be compressed, but the compression is limited to an amount within a compression range to maintain a seal.

Difficulties in grounding a non-integral, deep drawn resonator (DDR) to the filter body of a cavity may be substantially eliminated by preventing the movement of the DDR away from a grounding contact area on the filter body. The addition of a compression plate and stop limiter in the connection of the non-integral DR to the filter body helps insure that any such movement is eliminated or substantially reduced.

Methods and devices for grounding deep drawn resonators

Orthomode transducers (OMTs) and methods of fabricating OMTs are disclosed. According to disclosed embodiments, an OMT includes a housing defining an internal waveguide. The housing may be composed of a first cast housing member attached to a second cast housing member. The first housing member may include a first side of the waveguide that is cast into the first housing member. The second housing member may include a second side of the waveguide that is cast into the second housing member. A method of fabricating an OMT may include arranging at least one casting insert in at least one mold, casting the housing in the mold and casting a waveguide in the housing using the at least one casting insert. The disclosed devices and methods provide cost effective solutions for fabricating OMTs of various operating frequencies that share a substantially similar outer housing shape and size.

Various embodiments relate to an apparatus and related method for transmission and reception of a plurality of a carrier signals comprising one or more dual-band channels through a same-band combiner. A device such as a base station may include a same-band combiner that comprises a plurality of dual-bandpass filters and a combining element to transmit and receive the carrier signal. Each of the dual-bandpass filters may transmit and receive a channel, with each dual-bandpass filter including separate reception and transmission passbands for the separate frequencies in the dual-band channel. The combining element may separate and combine the one or more dual-band channels, with each of the dual-bandpass filters connected in parallel processing separate dual-band channels.

Various embodiments relate to a base station element and related method of suppressing an alternating-current (AC) portion of a signal. A base station element includes a filter capable of lightning suppression through the use of an LC filter that suppresses an AC portion of a received signal while passing a DC portion of the signal. The LC filter includes a flat inductor disposed in a cavity of the base station. The flat inductor may be connected to other electrical components disposed in the cavity of the base station to complete the electrical circuit. In some embodiments, the flat inductor may be produced from one material through photo-etching and may also include snap in or snap on connectors on one or both ends to enable galvanic contact with other components like a tap pin or a printed circuit board (PCB) without requiring attachment through soldering.

An assembly and method relates to stabilizing a radio frequency (RF) filter with respect to a housing. The assembly can include a filter component; a housing having a groove to receive the filter component; a cover mounted to the housing to cover the groove; and an elastomeric element disposed between the cover and the filter. The elastomeric element may be one or more tubular pieces.

Various exemplary embodiments relate to a support assembly for a planar filter. The assembly includes a u-shaped housing with angled surfaces at the inner corners of the u-shape, a first dielectric plate having a first angled surface in contact with one of the angled surfaces of the housing, a second dielectric plate having a second angled surface in contact with the other angled surface of the housing, at least one compressible ring, and a cover. The planar filter is supported between the first dielectric plate and the second dielectric plate. The cover compresses the compressible ring to apply downward force on the first and second dielectric plates. The downward force is translated to an inward force by the angled surfaces of the housing. The angled surfaces of the housing apply an inward force on the first dielectric plate and the second dielectric plate.

Various exemplary embodiments include a technique for tuning a filter to have two stop bands. This technique may involve combination of signals from a plurality of high-band notch resonators and low-band notch resonators. Loop wires may couple both high-band and low-band notch resonators to a central conductor, thereby enabling the central conductor to transmit a signal having dual stop bands.
