A retaining terminal structure of a connector is for serving as a retaining terminal that provides retaining and positioning effects when assembling a connector. The retaining terminal as a formed integral by metal extrusion includes an L-shaped corner portion; a butting portion formed at a top portion thereof and for serving as butting ground guidance with a connected connector, so as to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD); and a retaining portion formed at a side thereof and for serving as a retaining member when the retaining terminal is corresponded and assembled. Using the integrated structure of the retaining terminal having ground guidance, and retaining and positioning effects, a number of terminals and retaining components at an interior of the connector is reduced, thereby decreasing steps and production expenses needed for assembly of the connector.

A male type USB (universal serial bus) connector includes a substantially rectangular connector body, a cable connected to the connector body and extended out of a hole at a rear side wall of the connector body, two symmetrical insulative shells fastened together and covered on the rear side wall and two opposite lateral side walls of the connector body and a part of the cable to secure the cable in place, and an insulative cap fastened to the connector body and the insulative shells at a front side, the cap having a center coupling hole, which receives a front side wall of the connector body, and a backward coupling flange coupled to the insulative shells.

A plastic outer shell for a DIN/MINI DIN computer connector has a hollow, elongated rear end extending from the body thereof at one end, the hollow, elongated rear end made from a flexible plastic material and integrally formed of a plurality of spaced, straight ribs in longitudinal direction and a plurality of spaced, curved ribs in transverse direction, the spaced, curved ribs permitting the cross sectional area defined in the hollow, elongated rear end to be expanded for holding cables of different outer diameter.

A bus connector comprising a base, an upper shell and a terminal unit, wherein said upper shell has resistor chambers for holding resistors from a bus and an elongated board at the front bottom edge thereof which is tightly pressed on the bus main track to which the connector is connected to seal off dust, and wherein said terminal unit has four terminals made in the same shape and respectively retained in four parallel grooves on the bottom edge of the base.

A cable connector comprising a plastic core covered with a cap and fastened in a short copper tube at one end. By engaging a plurality of raised portions at the inside of the cap in a plurality of notches around the periphery of the front projecting end of the plastic core, the cap is firmly attached to the plastic core and, the plug holes on the plastic core are respectively automatically longitudinally aligned with the holes on the cap for fastening terminals tightly. After having been covered with the cap, the plastic core is fastened in the short copper tube at one end to incorporate with the short copper tube into a consolidated piece convenient for performing further outer shell resin molding process.

For electrically connecting the bus line from a machine to an IC mounting seat of the electric control circuit of another machine, a cable connector is disclosed comprising a plug seat, an upper cover and a terminal assembly fastened therebetween. The plug seat further comprises an elongated locating seat having a plurality of grooves alternatively vertically disposed at two opposite sides and obliquely aligned with two rows of mounting slots at the two opposite sides thereof for holding the connecting racks of the terminal assembly in place when the contact ends of the terminal assembly are fastened in the mounting slots, as such the bus line at one end of a cable from a machine can be accurately fastened in place and electrically connected to the connecting racks of the terminal assembly, thus, providing for further electric connection to the IC mounting seat of an electric control circuit of another machine through the plug seat.

A receptacle terminal material strip of which each terminal has integrally a front plug terminal retaining portion having a folded frame formed by bending the front end of the terminal backward with two opposite spring strips relatively obliquely projecting forward inward for holding a plug terminal and convenient for receiving electroplating process; an intermediate fastening portion having two wing projections at two opposite sides for fastening in a terminal seat in the rubber core of a receptacle; and a rear electrical connection portion having a substantially U-shaped cross section with a plurality of indentations made thereon for breaking according desired length. The terminals under processing of the receptacle terminal material strip are respectively connected with one another at two locations so that precise size can be achieved through automatic manufacturing process.

An adapter connector with improved electric shielding property, comprising two symmetrical receptacles respectively connected to an adapter at two opposite sides and fastened inside a copper sleeve. The adapter is comprised of two symmetrical blocks connected side by side through stub mortise-and-tenon joint with two arched strip conductors fastened therein for alternative connection thereto of the two terminals of each receptacle to form an electric circuit. A plurality of beads are made on the inner wall of the copper sleeve and longitudinally aligned with each other for guiding the receptacles through a slide way so that the plug pins of one receptacle can be conveniently electrically connected to and inserted inside the plug pins of the other receptacle permitting the plug pins of the other receptacle to press against the inner wall of the copper sleeve for grounding.

Adapter connector with improved electric shielding property

A base-bar type electrical connector, comprised of a base, an electrical contact assembly, a ribbon cable fastener and a stress eliminator. The electrical contact assembly is comprised of a plurality of conductors fastened in the base at the bottom with forked terminals projecting over the top surface of the base so that a ribbon cable can be placed thereon and squeezed by the ribbon cable fastener to force the forked terminals to pierce through the ribbon cable permitting the conductors in the ribbon cable to electrically retained at the fork of the forked terminals. The stress eliminator has two hook portions respectively hooked up with the base at two opposite ends so as to firmly secure the ribbon cable fastener to the base against any possible stress. The base has a dovetail groove at the bottom conveniently for mounting on a bus-bar main track through dovetail joint to electrically connect the ribbon cable to a bus-bar.

A receptacle for cable connector with locking mechanism and electric shielding property, which includes a socket having a circular recessed portion at the front end for the setting therein of a metal hoop to hold a dielectric core. The metal hoop comprises a plurality of resilient strips projecting from its inner wall surface and disposed in a gap between the socket and the dielectric core so as to produce a retaining force onto the metal fastening tube of the cable plug which is inserted therein to reinforce the connection and improve electric shielding effect. An opening is made on the metal hoop so that a channel is defined between the metal hoop and the circular recessed portion of the socket for the fastening therein of the unitary hook portion of the metal fastening tube of the cable plug.

A receptacle for computer mother board connectors with a self-locking and electric shielding mechanism, which includes a rubber core (1) incorporated with a metal ring (2) and received in a metal casing (3). The rubber core (1) is unitarily made of rubber material through a shape molding process, and has a circular slot (13) on its front end, or top, for the insertion therein of the metal ring (2), two recessed holes (14) and two fastening holes (15) at both opposite sides for securing the metal ring and the metal casing to provide good electric shielding. The metal ring (2) has top clamping member (21) and inner projections (22) to match with corresponding convex portions (312) around the circumference of a hole (311) on the front wall (31) of the metal casing (3) permitting the clamping members and the inner projections to firmly retain the copper fastening tube of the plug which is inserted therein and permitting the clamping members to firmly contact the convex portions of the metal casing to form a grounded circuit. The metal ring also comprises a semi-circular hole (20) for the fastening therein of a retainer portion on the copper fastening tube of the matching plug so that the plug is firmly secured thereto.
