Oral care compositions and methods of use

This invention relates to oral care compositions, for example comprising a salt of a basic amino acid having a pH in solution of less than 7.5, an abrasive having a pH in solution of less than 7.5, and a fluoride ion source, and an acid selected from the group consisting of: a carboxylic acid (e.g., citric acid, lactic acid, glycolic acid, acetic acid, succinic acid, or fumaric acid), and an inorganic acid, wherein the inorganic acid is not phosphoric acid or sulfuric acid (e.g., wherein the inorganic acid is hydrochloric acid or sodium acid pyrophosphate), and to methods of using and of making these compositions.

Oral care compositions

A dentifrice composition and a method of making thereof are provided. The dentifrice composition includes an alginate, where the alginate is present in an amount from about 0.01 wt % to about 2 wt %, based on the total weight of the dentifrice composition; zinc compounds, wherein the zinc compounds include zinc oxide and zinc citrate trihydrate, wherein the zinc compounds are present in an amount from about 0.1 wt % to about 2 wt %, based on the total weight of the dentifrice composition; and an abrasive, wherein the abrasive includes calcium carbonate, wherein the abrasive is present in an amount from about 38 wt % to about 50 wt %, based on the total weight of the dentifrice composition.

Alginate dentifrice compositions and methods of making thereof

The disclosure is directed to processes and methods of reducing bloating and breakage of containers and packaging that house oral care compositions. Also contemplated are products and formulations that are produced or obtained from the processes and methods described herein.

Processes and methods

An oral care composition and methods for the same are disclosed herein. The oral care composition may include an orally acceptable vehicle, an anionic surfactant, and a nonionic surfactant. The anionic surfactant may include a C6-C18 fatty acid glutamate or a salt thereof, and the nonionic surfactant may include a C6-C18 alkyl polyglucoside. A weight ratio of the nonionic surfactant to the anionic surfactant may be from about 0.25:1 to about 9:1, or from about 1.8:1 to about 2.2:1.
